Dear WG,

I'm writing this to inform you of my ferm decision to quit playing and most importantly spend money in this game until you put back friendly fire in random mode.

The toxicity generated by rather rare intentional friendly fire incidents is nothing compared to the current state of play where shot blocking has become a sport.

It opened up opportunities for really toxic play-styles in all sort of situations, too many to enumerate.

I'm going to put this game to rest on both my accounts on EU servers Hitmap and Bitmark and I will keep an eye on patch notes.

All the best in your future endeavors.

You think your own brand of toxicity is okay.  That you are fully equipped to be judge, jury, and executioner when it comes to disciplining people you know nothing about from a single incident?  I wonder what your attitude is when you goof and somebody gets angry at you?  How would you like them to treat you in that situation?

Seriously, please stop playing.  I am sure, on balance, the game would be better without you and your particular brand of toxicity.

Yes because someone blocking your shot is more toxic than you damaging an ally right?

Bye

Yeah, no.

I mean, a player who wants enabled friendly fire is leaving the game? Friendly fire removal working as intended.

It's unfortunate you decided you spend your first forum post on this after 15k battles.

The game can be frustrating, but the problem you describe, I really can't see it being common, and it is by far a lesser evil than team damage baiting friendlies.

What you suggest is in no way better than the current situation.

As for the rest of forumites, please don't get out of line.

Blocking shots being common these days?

Sorry, but I barely noticed any of that happening the past... uh... 500+ battles I've played the past few months.

So if it really is as common as you claim, then maybe you should examine the situation better.

In any case, friendly fire should stay out of the game.

If I've read the OP correctly, he's complaining about people diving in to secure damage for themselves rather than think twice about the possibility of collecting a shot intended for the enemy. He's not moaning about his inability to cause team damage deliberately.

I've seen that too, along with a variety of other selfish play. I wouldn't say that the removal of friendly fire is any more to blame than the possibility of getting free stuff over the holiday period bringing back casual players.

OP, if people are blocking your shots this often and pushing you out of cover etc, I'm sorry to say, but then it must be a "you" problem since, in my latest 1k+ battles since the removal of team dmg I have only been pushed out of cover once, the times people have been blocking my shots have been obvious accidents.

Honestly ask yourself, what could you possibly have done which makes so many of your teammates become toxic against you so often when it certainly doesn't happen to us that often.

removal of friendly fire and damage has dumbed down the game, people are no longer looking where they are driving or shooting specially if they drive some big heavy.

getting out of the cap in a slower less heavy vehicle is trying to avoid getting pushed around because steve in his IS7 wants to go in that direction and doesn't care whos driving in front of him, it's not like he will be fined or something because there is no damage so who cares

Or maybe they were toxic editheads from the get go. I firmly believe Mr Occam would back me up on this.

People always did that anyway, as those are usually end game situations where the game is won and everyone is rushing for the last kill and damage. No one is going to care if they take team damage in that situation, in fact it's just a double bonus, they are getting the damage and some bonus credits as well.

Team damage being off wouldn't have changed that, so I suspect the OP is using that as an excuse and really like others above have suggested he more wants team damage on for more selfish reasons.

You suspect OP is being selfish because other players have always been selfish ... I guess that makes sense if your approach is focused on everyone being selfish.

I've recently returned to playing after a very long break and one of the first things I discovered (to my great surprise) was the removal of friendly fire. I was kindly alerted to the fact by a team-mate via his auto-loader into the rear of my vehicle from point blank range. Thanks to him for that.

My first thought was "Brilliant! No more griefers!" My second though, was more along the lines of "Oh, actually, the whole co-ordinating fire with team-mates without shooting each other thing was quite a skill", and part and parcel of learning situational awareness. And one of the few things I'd vaguely got the hang of.

So now I'm undecided whether its officially a Good Thingtm  or not. I guess time will tell.
