Can we please, please, have some self righting mechanic after 'n' amount of seconds!?

The physics in this crazy world is bizarre. It allows seemingly impossible maneouvres to turn our tanks on their side, to be ignored indefinitely by our team mates. We can't play, we can't quit back to garage for fear of punishment, so what should we do?

Sometimes, we can use this opportunity to go and cook breakfast only to find on your return you have been righted and are about to be shot by some damn EBR.

Other times, you waste 18 minutes of your life wondering how you ended up here; at the bottom of a wine bottle, laying on your side wishing you were somewhere else.

Afaik when you are on your side or overturned, you can leave the game freely, without any penalty.

They should fix the awful soap stone physics first. Too much BS in that department.

Not really. As your tank is still not taken out.

There is one... Dual barrels can do that when on their side. So it makes sense that caliber = more power. Tbh it should work for all tanks. The bigger the gun, the easier it will be. As a magic flip won't punish mistakes. And tbh... don't really want that either.

I want a winch system, similiar to the one in Spintires:

You could pull yourself over, or pull someone else over if their winch can't reach a sturdy attachment point.

WoT may be too fast-paced, but it would still be useful to have such a system, just in case.

And I can immediately see 90% of the player base use this as a tool for abusement.

Or come to think of it, since a medkit nowadays not only heals injured crew members but can also be used to stop being stunned it then would be a nice addition if a repair kit could also be used to overcome being flipped, but I fear that this is currently too much of a programming hassle for the devs.

Both players need to accept using it before it attaches... duhhh

No offence. But... How do you guys flip your tanks?

I am intrigued by this element in the game and for apparently for no reason what so ever i find it difficult.

I have spent hours in the training room and randoms trying out different maps, locations, tanks and speeds but i can not flip my tank by any means other than jumping of high places and pushing others against walls but those are easy to do.

It all started when I managed to flip my M4A1 REVO in Mannerheim line in a slight slope with decent speed while turning and that was the last time I flipped my tank by accident, about 3 months ago.

If you guys have replays of you flipping your tanks feel free to share them. :)

I’d say:

- If an Enemy flips you or turns you upside down, no help for you. He might decide to handle a bigger threat first and then come back for you, if you could unflip automatically it would make the game easier and dumber, no thanks. Flipping you can be a tactical decision, don’t mess with it. Also, flipping enemies is fun. A few days ago I was fighting a 703/2 in my 75TS when a 13 75 flanked me. I managed to push him on his side against a wall, killed the 703/2 and then the 13 75. With auto unflip, I could not have won that so gloriously.

- If you flip yourself,  OK, but then I propose a time penalty:

1 minute if you flipped yourself. That’s fair enough considering it usually takes longer to get help.

3 minutes if you're upside down, long, but you won’t die and often teammates won’t try to help for fear of getting a TK strike.

flipping a 100 ton tank because you drive into a brick wall backwards, slightly angled.. plausible in wot, in the real world you would just drive trough the wall.

I have flipped tank while turning at higher speeds while on a slope but flipping a jagdtiger while backing into a wall was a total facepalm, if they can remove friendly fire damage they should also be able to remove flipping due to wonky physics

Looking at the tanks that you play, it's no wonder that you don't understand this topic.

But yeah, the physics are total BS, as it wouldn't be hard enough to play lights already.

Yes please, it's utterly retarded that soapstones cause irreversible flipping, especially since wheelies Always flip back :honoring:

Although I hardly get this problem. I do agree that there should be something to self right.

I even managed to get my maus on its side once. Good luck righting that one.

The times I have done it were due to my own mistakes.  I knew what I was doing had a chance I would end up on my side, dropping down a too steep slope, taking a corner fast with adverse camber.

The way being completely flipped works is fine, you get a countdown and you get to go back to garage in shame.

The one which needs changing is when you are on your side.  Game knows you are stuck on your side and gives you a helpful little icon to tell you so but allows you to stay there forever.  That should either be subject to the same countdown as being completely overturned, or leave it as it is but after a ten second countdown you should have the ability to use a repair kit or some other mechanism to right yourself.
