Hello!

I have gained enough credits so I can sell the IS and buy the IS-3. Should I farm more credits or sell the IS to buy the IS-3?

I'd recommend to do the other way around and re-buy the KV-85. You'll not have a good time at tier 8 , not yet :)

You should focus on training your crews and improve at the game (aim for at least 3/4th of your HP in damage per game).

That's best done in fully researched tanks. Hold on to them unless they are truly horrible (the IS is good - so is the KV-85).

Higher tiers might seem like stronger tanks, but they also meet stronger opposition. So if you don't do well at tier 6, you will do worse at tier 9.

Usually I sell the tanks to buy the next one, but I re-buy the tanks I liked in the line.

IS and KV-85 are a real good tanks to play. Higher tiers are not as interesting as low tiers, if you play T8, you'll meet T10s which will crush you when your tank is stock.

Stick to low tiers, learn gameplay, and when you make sure that you're ready, update your tier. :)

Gl!

Thanks to all the replies guys. I found this really helpful. I wasnt sure what to do since my friend told me to buy tier 8 so I can play with his highest tier tank.

IS is a really good tank, IMHO. I would not sell it.

You probably should get more experience before moving up tiers, but it's really your call. The game gets really a lot harder in tiers 8-10.

I didn't really get on with either of those tanks, but mine is a minority view

IS-3 is really good tank at 100% worth it. But IS is also a good tank, even if I hate the low penetration values on it.

Higher tiers are more challenging. A lot of people will tell you to stick to low tiers but you will only learn higher tier gameplay by actually playing at higher tiers.

As a measure of how well you are doing you should be trying to do at least your own tanks hitpoints worth of damage every battle. Ideally more than that. Right now you are not doing that so if you moved up to tier 8 you would probably not enjoy it very much at the moment because you would just get kicked around a lot and you would find it quite expensive to keep the tank running. Lower tiers are much easier to make credits at.

Up to you what you choose to do, but you should definitely focus more on getting good crews before getting better tanks. It makes a very big difference.

I agree, as a rule of thumb, but there's more to it in here. Especially when it comes to learning the maps and developing crews a bit, he really should be holding on a while longer.

You should drop down to tier 5-6 and get more experience before thinking about something else.

If this is your first tank, hold for awhile.

Go start a new line. For example the Italian medium line will soon be top of the three for about 2 weeks. You would like to grind it as it is a quite good one.

Then try to have both of the tanks for frontline. Then perhaps start a 3rd line. There will be 4 frontlines comming soon and they are excellent to grind tier 8 tech threes.if you play long enough you should be able to have 4 tier 9s by the end of the frontlines.

If you enjoy the IS, and it makes you credits, keep it.

IS-3 will probably make you lose credits. So definitely make sure you have another vehicle as a credit maker.

Then I'm in the same minority as I really don't like the IS-3 either (and didn't think much of the IS). A shame really as I had a lot of fun in the KV-1/1S/85 leading up to the IS.
