Not a very good bot program then is it?

Have you considered the possibility that you saw someone who had a bad case of lag?

Try installing the battle hit mod and see where they actually hit you after the battle.

That way you at least know which part you exposed while thinking that you were in cover.

He could try a better program.

Yep, they allow it - one can simply type few selected words to Google and you'll find working bot in no time, too bad WG isn't too keen to ban those bot accounts.

Well seeing as you lot can detect them better than WG by looking at them play, just like with cheats. They should pay you lot to remove them as you find them. Even if they don't use a program right. He might be a trackpad player for all we know.

kids and new players are like that. If you dont like that, you should play non-random modes.

There's no need to detect them, bot programs are sold openly with instructions and there's certainly not a single human player that plays like +200 games / day, every day every week every month.

Sometimes I'd prefer bots over certain teammates...seriously.

If you search for world of tanks bot, the third result is one. This shows that WG does not care, not even enough to send DMCAs to google to get it out of the search results.

The bot in question costs 8$ for 5000 battles, thats why you see a lot of them, and more during the marathon. And it isnt a new problem, it was already a thing 6 years ago : http://ftr.wot-news.com/2014/05/22/want-a-free-super-pershing-use-a-bot/

why should they?

bots, buying gold, medals, account sharing, etc... its all against EULA. Anybody, who is using bots is risking getting his/her account banned. That should be enough.

A bot playing artillery is indistinguishable from a regular arty tomato.

People get banned, yes, but that doesn't mean there aren't always new bot users. Such a thing should be prevented before it even happens. WG is healing the issue instead of preventing it.

It will not prevent it. Removing it from google search will only make it harder to find. Removing any modding capabilities would be something that is more effective, and something that WG can actually control.

Actually, I think ML algorithms should be pretty efficient at detecting bot from real player, if WG will get input from client.

They have to be properly identified before sanctions take,  More than enough "banned for no reason" threads on these forums to know false positives happen.

Bots dont run as mods.

They are external programs that use scripts or recognition tools. You would need to run a memory scanner or something else to monitor all running processes to find those.

Hmm... that is somewhat difficult to to believe. But I don't know, perhaps.

Creating a bot based only on image processing would be highly complex task.

Are you assuming the type of player that opens those threads is telling the truth? I generally assume the opposite.
