Mannerheim line:

1st time in my life I drove to the C2/C3 opening on this map (to shoot at one specific enemy on D1/E1). Of course my tank got magnetically absorbed by the heavy gravity that is there and the actually icy rocks prevented / ignored my efforts to drive backwards/sideways and we got a "draw" with 1 enemy surviving because you cannot escape when the WoT Gravity gods have sucked you in.

There needs to be some way to escape this hole at least, even if it's a two minute drive for a heavy tank.

This is a 2014 map? Inescapable positions are not meta anymore, try to modernize your maps WG.

Just troll better m8.

It's amazing to think that driving at an enemy with WWWWW from B2 C1 would have yielded better results. Punished for making unpredictable plays, that's meta as hell.

This map deserves better opportunities to flank, I agree.

Honestly, I've never seen a HT on that hill spot on C2. I suspect for good reasons. As it's a steep slope regardless if you slide or not. And I've seen more fall down that hole from D1 and D4 then C2.

And if you could drive up, you can drive down. And then it would just be a hidey-hole then a trap. And we need that less on that map tbh.

Speaking of sliding on Mannerheim line, this map is just a hazard in and of itself...

You're complaining because you drove into a hole?

Have you considered the possibility of not driving into holes as a solution to your problems?

I agree. I've got myself stuck in there few times, I could blame myself, but why is that there I have no clue

Or, learn a lesson from this apparently single incident, moderate your driving and do not require the devs to handhold you.

This is physics problem imo.

The second you touch a rock or stone in WoT, or a wall, anything can happen and you have no possibilities of avoiding what happens.

There's a spot in E1 too where you can get stuck with no means of escaping.

Soap physics are crap. Same for climbing and flipping against houses.

I would rather have invisible walls than the current physics for blocking of areas that are supposed to be inaccessible.

Damn.
We have overwhelmingly positive responses and even people sharing other soap / magnetic positions.

But yeah, this isn't the only problem the map has.
1) It also has a lack of proper bushes for the "TD positions" - or even such proper positions to begin with,
2) south side has the 'unbeatable' G1 base-def camp,
3) and the only reason to go to "the heavy side" is the hopes of more health -> damage being there. Once you win it as the north there is really minimal reasons to keep pushing.
4) Going to G7 from the north and spotting / baiting enemies to peek for your C8 snipers works decently on low-mid tiers, yet when it doesn't work it just makes the whole match way more campy, it feels especially trash whey you do it. And using yourself as bait being the most viable strategy for a light tank somehow feels cheesy.

I didn't exactly drive into it by my own choice. I peeked on what looked safe terrain and started getting sucked downwards by heavy gravity, to which my response was a proper "SSSSSS", it slowed down the sliding but my tank was still not moving backwards so I turned it a bit to the right as there would be a small stone to maybe get stuck on to stop my tank from sliding, yet I didn't reach that "rocky" part fast enough and no matter in which direction I turned my tank it just kept getting black holed in to that position.

No idea how my tank survived the fall from like the 5th floor with 0 damage. Those are also some flawless physics at work.

Afterthoughts - I feel like like this map should exit the map rotation when Pearl River comes back in.

Oh that.

The other day I sent a Bobject 907 swimming in that pond, tried to flank me from the small cliff overlooking the ditch, blew his tracks as he was sliding down, could not control the slide anymore and splash he went.

Was funny to watch.

"Wet Soapstone Physics" ( tm) and bad map design, not a very good combination.

Myself I got quite annoyed on Erlenberg where on B1/B2 if you go there in a light tank, there is a slight dip and then steep rocks into the water with no way to escape, drowned there twice.

These kinds of stupid areas where you can't escape from, certainly because of the horrible physics we have at the moment, need to be redesigned.

It adds nothing positive to gameplay so there is no reason to include it.
