Speaking about Frontlines.

It was last  fun mode to play with some decent rewards.

This year front line is just crap completely  not worth a time. And rewards are useless tier 9 tanks  with some bonds. WOW...

And yet they force you to play steelhunter o what ever that mode for red lords is called.

Randoms are utter trash never seen so many bots cheatters and red players How does it fun ?

Ahh forgot one thing :

you MUST play  every month so if you cant due to travel etc you are done - new way to force players on servers .

It will not work WG

Nope. Last fun mode they ruined was Teambattles. Frontline was always a boring grind in my view.

How does lowering the rewards ruing the game mode? It changes absolutely nothing in the mode, it's just that you are too greedy and always want more and more stuff. The game mode is still as good as it was.

You can play 0 weeks if you want to. You can get a reward tank just by playing the SH mode. Of course if you want maximum rewards, you are required to play a lot, but again, that's only for maximum rewards.

And if the rewards are so bad, why do you even mind missing them?

I liked Frontline when it was first introduced...but the excitement wore off after playing for a week or two, when I realized I'd just barely scratched the surface of the progress needed to actually get any tanks from it.

I woulda been fine with it if I could make some meaningful progress through tech trees...but it was only for tier 8s.

Then there's the respawn timer, which forced you to wait in spectator mode, often for minutes, if you died too often...which is hard to control, if your team gets steamrolled or if the enemy launches a spotter plane (well that's fair...).

That time limit was the most infuriating thing! You're just sitting there, wasting your time...terrible design.

The lack of map variety, literally two maps now, is another killing factor of this mode. It makes the grind aspect even worse. It's always the same tactic, over, and over again. It's just way too repetitive, and entirely unenjoyable.

You'd have to be a masochist... That, I sure ain't.

As someone who grinded a lot of the previous season of Frontline (and I mean a lot, let's just say, way more than any sane person would), I'm confused, from what I hear of the new season starting tomorrow it's only really a positive thing for me as a player. The mode itself hasn't massively changed, it's just less grinding and less rewards, but if all you want to do is play the mode because it's "fun", then it really hasn't changed much at all. You can still throw on credit reserves you have and spam only Premiums to make easy money, use the mode to grind through some Tier VIIIs you would rather not play against IXs/Xs or you could just chill in the mode as something different to randoms.

The reworked respawn system is quite nice (being able to pick where you spawned) and the map rebalancing I saw (and posted about awhile ago) made certain areas I previously wasn't interested in playing a tad more fun, though as a whole I do feel the changes were too small and honestly, I'd have liked a 3rd (desert) map as well. If I'm not absolutely stupid, the combined required points to max out as well and get a tank is significantly less. Yes you get less rewards, but for myself I never really cared about all the bonds and stuff, and the reward I aimed for and spent so much time on last season was the AE Phase I. As I understand it, I'm only going to have to grind roughly 60k points combined to get a tank as opposed to what, like 300k?*

You lose the catch-up mechanic, and that is pretty brutal. The whole point to me though of sharing the grind with Steel Hunter though is to allow players who don't want to or can't fully grind a tank via only Frontline can still have a chance later in the year. For the absolute mad lads who want two tanks, you can full grind both, but that is entirely up to you as a player (and speaking for myself, I will only be playing Frontline as I do not enjoy Steel Hunter).

The only difference is that there are no useless tier 8 prem rewards that take 3 to 5 months to get first, vs 10 days if it was a marathon. This time they only have tier 9's. But you get enough after 4 months, and you don't have to play steel hunt to just get one of the two you can get. The other rewards are 100% the same. So idk what you feel is lacking this time. As with last year, time vs reward is not gonna be super regardless.

Oh yes, because I've never seen those in FL.... You just notice less of it, as it's a 30 vs 30 and utter chaos. So they can hide easier.  There is still as much bad there as in randoms. So idk what you expect.

If you want both rewards. Sure. But as you said the rewards are useless. Does it matter? Again, you can still get one of the two tier 9's if you only play half the events. And I doubt you have to play for many hours each week to get to the max rank vs last year. As they don't have a 2 prestige cap pr week. It's capped to 1 this time. So if you come home late and only have 2 days. I suspect it can still work for most... If you really want both the "useless" rewards.

less grinding is good, it means more time to do/play something else :B

What are we talking about in hours to get a reward tank here? Was thinking about going at it, but if its a real grind it will be difficult with the week I have ahead of me.

Frontlines have always been a boring and pointless addition to the game.

Playing the steel hunter mode again could be fun though

It was estimated at 10-12 hours each week it is active for average players.

When was frontline ever fun?
I spammed stage 1 because I wanted to get the reward tanks but then got so bored and burnt out because of the mode and it made me quit the game for a year.

Also felt forced to play it because you earn SOOOOO much credits in that mode and playing randoms felt like wasting time and potential.

Now the only thing I want to know is how many rounds I need to play to get the max tokens.

32 if your average score is midway between lieutenant and captain; less if you are better.

I consider this a waste of time. It is not stable either, the servers had a lag last night. By the way, I gave up playing.
