For starters, I want to point out that I am not a good player. At the very best I'm an average player. I am also aware that giving WG money for a tank is perceived as an offense, yet I do not care for it that much.

To give a bit of background: I have been playing this game for about 6 years with lots of on and off periods during which I grind some tanks and then quit. However, recently I've started playing the game more and also more frequently up to a point I won't be quitting in the near future, certainly not with the new frontline event coming up. I recently picked up the bourrasque with a 50% coupon and I have enjoyed the tank so far.

I have about 10-12 premium vehicles such as the Lowe, E75-TS, T-34-2, Progetto, Panther 8.8, FV4202 (was a miss buy), Defender (Have it but don't want to exploit it), Strv S1, Superpershing (Remnant of old times), Chrysler GF (Black market), Bourrasque and then some lower-tier ones.

I always said to myself I would buy the Renegade when it would come back for sale, I said the same thing about the Scorpion G however so I'm in a bit of a pickle now. I can only buy 1 of them and I'm curious which one I should get. I am not looking for a credit maker since I have my Progetto and Lowe for that. I'm looking for a tank which is really fun to play so basically it comes down to the following question: Which one is more fun to play?

You can check my stats on my profile and my played tanks if that seems relevant for anyone.

P.S.: I have more experience in driving heavies than I have TD's

Well, Scorpion G's gameplay is sitting in the back and sniping, it requires patience. It has good mobility and gun handling, but nor armour at all.

Renegade is totally vice versa, it much more of medium heavy, and it fights in the first lines with the brawlers.

I don't have Renegade, but I tested Scorpion G on my alternative account. It's a great sniper with a big alpha.

Scorpion G is a good and easy tank to play. Renegade is also good but abit harder to play.

if you bust buy one more, get the renegade you have almost no td you perform good in and the scorpion is about not getting hit as where the renegade can bounce

most of the time to actually deal dmg you cant afford to sit at red line and snipe :)

About me not being good in TD's is 100% true. I'm much more used to playing heavy/medium and standing still somewhere for 5 minutes is really boring. So I get anxious and make positioning mistakes.

Skorpion G is OP, and thus, the better choice.

Has good moblity, alpha, accuracy and penetration. It does what a TD does best.

Renegade is pretty awful from my experience.

Low alpha for it's tier, and an awful cupola weakspot that gets hit by anyone. Would not recommend.

scorpion is not about sitting still, no td is about sitting still and wait, get into a good position to catch the first one that exposes itself and the move with the battle.

unless you have armor like a jagdtiger or T95, in that case move up with the heavies that are pushing.

Quite the contrary. The alpha is only 30 lower than the standard 390, coupled with an 8s reload and awesome gun handling for a tier 8 makes it a very enjoyable tank to play. The cupola also has random troll bounces sometimes just like the e5 used to have.

It basically has enough armor that people have to aim. The great gun, depression and dpm added on top make it a really good tank.

Everyone burned out on WoT has played this game for years. After thousands of hours, people are just salty and should move on, but instead they whine on public forums and seek validation. As if that does something.

WoT is a game and entertainment just like everything else. Of course you can spend your money as you want.

The Skorpion is not an easy tank to play. It´s fairly easy to make money sure, you only need a single pen to earn a decent amount of credits for the game. You are very easily spotted however and you tend to spend a lot of time hiding behind hard cover because arty will focus you otherwise. You are also very team and map dependant as in other soft TDs. I have owned the Skorpion for awhile and it´s a fun premium to take for a spin a couple of times in each session but I find it hard to play for many games the same day.

That is kind of like asking do I need a driver or a putter for golf, both tanks are good but have completely different roles and playstyles.

One is a completely paper, large, low camo, turreted TD with good alpha and mobility. The other is an all rounder heavium, that has a very good gun, decent mobility and some armour.

The Skorpion G is not easy to play. It has no camo, no armor and it's a big, fat, easy target. So the moment that you are spotted, you are gone (if you don't know what you are doing). It is very unforgiving.

490 alpha seems nice, but most players will not do more than two shots of damage per game on average. I don't own the Renegade, but that one has some armor, so it will be much more forgiving.

Skorpion G is a lovely TD and is very flexible with the fully rotatable turret and good maneuverability. Seems like you don't have much TD experience so go with the renegade.

If you want to primarily use it in FL you should go with Renegade. Even if it's the slower one of the two it is fast enough to keep up with the moving front. I played my first battle without equipment and consumables by mistake and it still felt pretty decent.

Skorp G is better in random, as soon as you get spotted in FL you will get a lot of shots coming your way and every airstrike will be aimed at you. And you get spotted often due to recon planes. It's much easier to play the Skorp in randoms and you can choose active (roll with the meds and peek-a-boom) or passive playstyle (snipe) as you like, in FL you'll get a quick trip to tank selection with either playstyle.

SkorpG is one of the tanks I play most in random atm but I wouldn't recommend it for you.

How does the Renegade compare the E75 TS or whatever it is, whilst FL will draw me back to the game spending 30 quid for a pixel tank, for just a mere four weeks of the year sems pretty insane to me.

One night drinking at the local pub will cost you more if you want to get drunk... ;-) And that's only fun for one night. Buying a premium tank gives you a lot more hours of entertainment (and benefits), plus the extra bonus of not getting a hangover.:P

Lol thats for serious drinkers, but yes putting it like that i suppose you have a point, that said, watching vids by Skillz and Claus, and while the Rene looks interesting, they seem to struggle in them, and both are good players
