Do you think, the gameplay would be more dynamic if the players get 2x xp and credit after damage and assist in the first 5 min of battle, and the players get 0.5x xp and credit after damage and assist in the last 5 min of battle?

I think this would encourage more aggressive play, however i'm certain that aggressive play should not encouraged as it normally ends with the aggressive player over pushing and dying early which leads to losses.

While i agree camping is an issue, there is a much bigger issue in this game. Players generally go to the same location every game (on each map) regardless of the enemies they have been match-made against. I believe a good player is capable of letting the game develop slightly before committing to a position where they will be the most effective in that game, instead of just going where their vehicle is usually the most effective straight away.

What is this ''punishment system'' they have in place now then?

Mathematically, the first five minutes of the match can be exactly the same (or in large part) as the last five minutes of the match. How much xp would that give? :popcorn:

 

And speaking personally: I am a bot noob that Nigel-de-Yolo-Jongs [1] too often and it is a habit that I am trying to break since it would be occasionally nice to reach the end of a battle alive. Getting punished for doing so would make me sad and angry, leading to alcohol abuse (and driving tanks under the influence!), which will lead to me growing fat(ter), which will lead to me being less able to easily bend over, which will lead to me being less able to fix drainpipes around the house, which will lead to me needing to call a plumber which costs a ridiculous amount of money and might cause my GF to leave me for this plumber who is both more manoeuvrable and wealthy. That could lead to babies, but because this is a plumber, they will likely be named things like Kevin, Ricardo and Maikel. These names clearly mean they will grow up valueing "swag" and stealing scooters. So on behalf of scooter owners worldwide: do not punish me for trying to stay alive longer! :ohmy:

The only thing that would do. Is to promote hard yolo early on and screwing the team over. As dying early doing 500 damage. Is better then getting 1K damage late game after everyone has yoloed.

Maus, Mauschen and VK, both Types, all the slow UK TDs from the AT2 onwards,  are going to be punished by this. Just saying.

That would just promote YOLO gameplay and punish slow tanks for absolutely no reason. I can already see how that would effect e.g. Malinovka: Nobody bothers going hill (takes too long), all scouts yolo the enemy base and hope for the basecampers to kill the enemy basecampers. And once the scouts are all dead you still get the typical campfest.

 

Also I never understand what this "dynamic" gameplay is supposed to be ...

Gameplay would be more dynamic if maps wasn't prompting camping so much.

There's enough people yoloing into silly situations and dying in the first 2 minutes as is. No need to encourage that.


Also, it's extremely unfair to people who are immensely valuable to winning the game by holding back multiple tanks with just one or two guys. They won't do much damage, but by just being where they are they give the team time to win another flank. They already lose out on xp by just holding on, a system like you propose is even more unfair. The game is won in more ways than just doing pewpew in the first couple of minutes...


Want less camping? Get rid of the stupid "hill+bush in corner" treatment every map seems to get now.

The average game of wot nowadays lasts about 30seconds anyways, why the hell would you want to encourage even faster games?

The camping is a map problem mainly, if it wasn't so highly rewarded by OP base camping spots less people would do it.

 

A better approach might be to give less XP and credits for any damage done in the bottom/top two maps rows nearest the borders, which would have the added bonus of giving arty less credits and XP unless they moved more.
