^ yeh that, they are an inevitable part of the game, always have been and always will be.

You have no re-spawns, if one team gets a numbers advantage and actually use it, then that advantage snowballs and games will end quickly.

I stopped a week ago. I've never felt better. Never felt calmer...

Take a break like I did, believe me it'll be good for you.

You are right - the landslide games are terrible.

But WG definitely will not do anything about them.

Nothing will change, it's all just random.

Take a break for a while mate, you'll definitely get bored if you play 24/7.

Matches *HAVE* sped up though over the years as back in 2010=>2014 matches lasted longer on average.

The balancing of tanks and power creep however have had quite a large effect on the speed of matches.

Obviously it's just the feels but that's what logical thinking should conclude on.

WG is flooding the game with credits and other rewards making players spam premium ammo even more.

WG has introduced autoloader and auto-reloaders which decrease the killing time with their burst.

DPM on tanks has also gone up. IS-4 and old relic has like 200-400 less DPM than the current meta tanks (Chieftain, 277, 260, 279e) but also has more hitpoints than any one of those.

Gold spam, DPM increase and HP decrease would logically mean that battles don't last as long as they did.

Well, the IS-3 you used to be able to pen with 212 pen frontally from almost any angel with ease, no longer viable unless you get lucky. And that's just one example. And I know as I used to play STA-1 in skirmishes frequently years ago.

If you have more over-armored heaves that can't be viably penned frontally, they can just stomp through flanks faster. Couple that with the huge increase in auto(loaders/reloaders) in the game making it easier to delete tanks or severely cripple them fast.

Premium ammo for credits making medium kinds of armor (which used to work against most standard ammo) an insta-pen and weak spots getting more armor then standard ammo of the same tier has pen is also detrimental to game speed.

If they have sped up, which is just a feeling at the moment, then IMO it's going to be a player quality thing more than anything else.

We've had tank imbalances and bad map balance for years, there have always been OP tank and meta tanks.

But IMO there has been a steady decline in the overall quality of players, especially at higher tiers with boosters and blueprints rushing people up to tier 9 and 10 tanks they have no clue how to play, and things like marathons and this battle pass encouraging them to play them (the amount of terrible 277s and SCs out yesterday),

Players for a long time have been brought up on a babied, dumbed down game, idiot proof heavies like Japanese ones or things like the Bobject, Op base camping ledges, easy to play low risk arty, no drawbacks auto-reloaders, swedish TDs that have forgiving camo, corridors that protect from over extending and flanking.

Newer players are rushing through the tiers on boosters and blueprints, not being challenged to learn and improve by the game environment like they used to be, and then get to higher tier games completely lacking in the skill set they need to be competent if they are not in those dumbed down positions or classes.

They then infest the games in large numbers, dying early or play so passively they might as well be afk and that creates a numbers overload which snowballs.

You also have less old school good players to stem the tide and turn games around, because they have been put off by all the dumbing down of the game, bad balance decisions, OP tanks etc.

So got stage 15 at Frontlines yesterday and then tried to play some Randoms... And just what an utter piece of garbage Randoms are... Nothing but these 3min win/losses with roflstop matches and bot like players that most likely are drewling all over their keyboards while their nurses are whiping their bottoms..

When you have played somehing else for a few days (FL) and then come back to "normal" WoT... Jesus christ. Then you really start to wonder why you are playing this s***t called game...

They are nothing new though.

And the fact I called it 15-0-yet-again suggests it was pretty common even back then.

Even if the game would be perfectly balanced, 3 minute steamrolls can still happen if people play their perfectly balanced tanks badly.

There are stuff you can't fix as a gaming company. The bigger part of the playerbase is just bad at playing the game.

Tank imbalance and lack of flanking routes.

Though by and large, I see no real difference in game times or player ability than before my 3,5 year break.

Games are faster because you ''can't flank''? Is that because they have to drive shorter route? The level of this nonsense apart, I would think this would increase battle times instead, if tanks couldn't be flanked and taken care of.

It's a combination of burst damage, DPM, alpha damage and most importantly gold spam that causes faster matches. Take away the ability from players to just spam gold and make armor mean something again on most tanks. That way you slow down games and people have to start flanking (it is possible) and think tactically in situations.
