You know how you can right-click on each individual team member in battle and select the "Block for this battle" option to stop seeing their messages and, most importantly, hearing their map pings?...

Well I've almost made it a habit, doing it during the battle start countdown...for everyone.

Can we get an option in the settings menu to just outright block everyone automatically? Or something of the sort?

I want complete interaction muting.

Since I've turned chat off (both for my own good and others' ), all that remains is those map pings and people calling for help or whatnot..."follow me!", etc...

That just distracts me from the battle, makes me make mistakes.

I don't need ragers pingspamming my location, I don't need one-man-army-incarnations calling me to follow them or help them.

I only need my focus on the battle. Unfortunately, as much as I'd hoped for the opposite...the random teams tend to be a distraction more often than an aid.

Can we have this? Without mods? In the vanilla client? Pretty please? Soon™?

I agree. I block anyone that pings or asks for help all the time anyway, it would save me time if I could just block everyone straight away.

Be preemptive.

Turn out chat in the settings.

Hm, weird request tbh. Why would you mind those?

I use headphones, and I drag the base volume to the lowest thing (5 out of 100) and I hear everything necessary, but not pinging the map, or anything else.

And I rarely block anyone in my battles, only people who ping map after losing their tank and blame team.

I block all pings all of the time, courtesy of Alsains modpack and champi's ping spam blocker! Turn off your battle chat, and the result is beautiful! :B

And as a sideline It also amuses me, to think how many times I get furiously pinged by some gaming chair Monty, who is oblivious to my inability to benefit from their instruction! :teethhappy:

Wargaming should finally, after almost 10 years, get around to implementing a limiter on map pings so you can't continuously ping the map.

It's a *BASIC* quality of life improvement they should have already implemented years ago.

Maybe they should create a single player PvE safespace mode to guarantee that there will be no human interaction what so ever in this multiplayer online game.

That doesn't stop map pings.

Chat I couldn't care less about, I rarely see it anyway.  Map pings ping.

All that is needed is for WG to stop people being able to repeatedly ping the map.

The map spam ping problem just sums up whats wrong at WG. A constant annoying issue that never finds a solution because they think the uninterrupted release of clone tanks is more impotant.

Well.. map spam happens for a reason. 50% of them being legit, because those that get pinged ruin the game at that point for no reason. The other 50% is not legit.

this function is already in game, disable chat in battle, problem solved. why add a function that does the same job as one that already exists?

I've noticed that I only get this problem if I press this button....

....if I don't press it I don't experience that problem.

As has been pointed out twice already, disabling chat does NOT stop pinging, nor those in-game commands (follow me, attack, etc....).

I actually agree with the OP anyway. Constant ping spamming, usually by someone who died in the first 30 seconds, can be annoying and, more importantly, distracting.

Everyone in the team gets pinged, not just the ones you are angry with.

Why should those who are actually trying to help win get punished just so you can feel superior?

While sometimes you can find toxicity in the chat, other many times there is nice people who wish good luck to you, or they write to you ty, or help you to know how much hp some enemy has, or from where was some enemy shoting...

If you find someone disturbing you in a random batle you have the option to block him, in my opinion that´s more than enough.

If this option is not  enough for you, maybe you should consider to play a solo game instead of a 15 vs 15 game.

I turned off my chat over a year ago. Best thing i have ever done in this game.

Having to individualy blacklist/mute spamers that ping map is annoying. Team mute should be in the options TBH.

To me, no ping is legit. By what authority do you, or anyone else decide to control the actions of another? Well, that's easy you aint got any, then again since I block all pings it's a moot point, but I am free to make it so will! :teethhappy:

I often ping once on the map and follow up with an immediate message (e.g. STRV, or 130PM) to tell the team there is something they need to be aware of in that bush. If you don't think that's a legit reason then sorry if they kill you.

Definitely, yes. So much anger in this game. Even with team chat turned off someone will just ping your tank madly showing that his highness is unsatisfied with your gameplay. Shut those highnesses up forever :)

Your suggestion does not solve the issue. On top of that, it's irritating.

Nice players are unfortunately very rare. It's not worth communicating with randoms in one of the most toxic playerbases in online gaming.

This, and pointing to a large bunch of enemy tanks, is what pings are meant to be used for.

I guess some people miss the message which appears in chat after a ping: "ATTENTION to sector XX" Which means it's supposed to draw your attention to a certain part of the map. This is also the main reason why it should have a 5 second delay instead of a 0.5 second delay it has now... People wouldn't even spam it then, it wouldn't be annoying.
