Like the title says. IMO it would be nice to put inscriptions, decals, camo etc. from the custom section on preset/3D styles.

Seems like a harmless addition to me, so why not :)

So...if everyone on the EU server made their own inscriptions, decals, camo on the preset/ 3D styles....then your computer would have to store thousands of such designs in case you meet the owners/creators in battle.

Can you guess how many nazi/far right inscriptions would appear?

Sorry this was badly formulated. I meant the option to add decals and inscriptions from the custom customization (in game decals and such) to preset 3D styles. Edited the original post now.

2D Styles are pretty easy to edit, my customisation mod that is 99% Modifying styles proves as much (and my God does it infuriate me that WG Refuses to utilise paint on like all but the non-historical styles).

3D Styles are a bit different though and the reason they don't allow custom inscriptions/decals is because it would require a bunch of lines in the vehicle xmls to move them to their new positions (for example, I had a friend add a paint mask to the 277 3D Style from the Battle Pass, notice how the Soviet star decal is messed up) if that's even possible, as I've never experimented with the subject. They also don't really use camo/paint because they almost always use custom skins, which lack paint masks that allow for paint/camo to even apply to the vehicle (it can be force-applied via some stuff, but well, it looks terrible). That they don't create paint masks for unskinned versions though such as the T-100, SU-130PM And so on infuriates me, since they'd look so awesome with paint properly applied.

Not to mention that it would kinda defeat the point of a preset style.

Wouldn't be something new really games that allow this use a cache system; the server streams you whatever customization the player you face in battle created. Your client clears this cache folder once in a while. So yeah a server would have to know all of them and would give your client whatever you need for the particular games you play.... it wouldn't be that much data on your system really especially with limitations on what players could 'upload'. Hence why you see such systems in other games it's nothing absurd. However, I'd say that checking the symbols on let's say violations and stuff... yeah that would be a another story depending on the community. If you spend some time in chat here yeah... that part could be an issue here. Still I'd love to put my face on some tanks, or the wife on an arty. Or even our dog on a scout hahahahaha. Yeah that would be some gold spend.

Yeah, it's kinda puzzled me why I can't put available decals and emblems on pre-set styles.

I'd love a wasp decal on my pre-set IS-7.

Well I kinda agree with you in the way that I like the blackwidow and ranger styles...
I just don't want the decals with them. Nor do I want to have any WG gamescon decals in my tanks hence me not using those styles.

So yeah if you could change that up that would be awesome. How ever its called a preset style for a reason so I don't see it happening tbf
