Question is: which non-premium tank is better for frontline?

I generally looking for mobile high dpm precise tank.

Pantera is amazing tech tree tank. I'd say on par with Shpagetto.

Hate Frontline (stupid Ferraris!) Love the Pantera. :-)

For the ill informed, why are there particular tanks that are 'better' tanks for FL that aren't necessarily so great in Randoms??

Map size mostly.

Pantera - of those two.

But the single techtree-tank I have got the best results in FL is Udes 14 alt 5.  A really good ridgeline sniper with a punchy laser gun, small and fairly quick (23,4hp/ton) with superb camo and even better depression.

And yes, reached lvl 15 in day 4 with a few General rankings.

I would stick to your semi fast premium tier 8s really. FL is tedious and boring, but it makes great credits if you use premium tanks.

If tech tree only then Pantera is a very good choice, as is T44.

CDC and IS-6 are not bad in FL tbh. Why? Map size. As in one part of the map is left wide open, so you can flank around and get better use of your low pen, or like the CDC. Have a bigger chance to stay out of spotting range for longer with mobility to move along the maps as the FL moves around. CDC struggle with that on most random maps.

In addition to map size as others have said, it's pen. A lot of tier 8s are crippled in randoms when they come up against anything higher tier due to crappy pen (unless you want to spend a mountain of gold - and even then sometimes its not enough). I seriously thought about trading in the 112 because 186 pen is woeful in randoms but in FL against exclusively tier 8 opposition its workable, and it's armour makes it a bit of a capping beast.

Pantera all the way, I don't think there's any non premium medium tank which is better for FL. Centurion has one really good thing and it's high penetration - you don't need that vs tier 8 vehicles(Defender excluded).

I sometimes take the Charioteer out for a spin. If you forget about the armor, it has the speed and penetration to go for it.

UDES 14 5

Charioteer

Pantera

Those would be my tech tree choices with those requirements.

Since the Panterra is a much more versatile tank overall it's simply better for any game mode.

Cobra 6

You and I have played different Udes 14/15s,   Mine was derpy as hell and resulted in a rage sell.   Hated the tank.

Almost all tech tree mediums, all lights and all arty are decent/good in FL. The heavies you pick has to be based on where you will spawn as they're more situational and even more so for TDs outside of the two fast ones.
