What is a recruit battle?
Back before the first soft wipe players can choose to play in recruit battles where only T1-T2 tanks may enter (not much different from now except that it's all automatically matched and you sometimes have to face T3 tanks as well).
Now that we have Tier 1-3 US tanks in game it'll be interesting to see how the Pz38H fares against these newcomers.

With ten tons of US tanks and nothing else on the maps, I can say the 38H can take on any US tier 1 2 or 3 tank, but you can't fight more than 1 or 2 anymore.

Yep, most of 'em if not all have guns powerful enough to damage the 38H. But still most times it still outlasts them.

It is significantly worse now, especially with the M2 that fires a 75mm cannon that can 2 shot you. Its also faster than you and has more health.
Also with the increasing low tier tanks, games with only T1/T2 are very rare now, which is where the H38 truly shines.

Yeah instead of 5-6 my average kill count has dropped to 3-4 per map...I want my money back

It ain't too bad. Besides after the initial excitement of new US tanks we'll see more varied matchmaking later on.

Meh I don't mind it as it is... US tanks have quite poor accuracy and with the new aiming system, the 38H can win long range duels with ease

I still love this tier two tank. The only thing the tank needs is a bump in acceleration since everything in those tiers does 35+. It should be like the 35t sort of where it's 35ish in speed but agile

Imo, the only problem with the H39 is that we have a H39 model, with a H39 top speed (36.5 kph on road, but it was recommended to go beyond 32 kph only in case of absolute necessity) but with a H35 engine.

I've been an owner of the Hotchkiss for a while now and I can attest to its glory. I've got more kills with it than anything else in my garage. It's capable of taking a lot of damage and its gun is decent. Its just hella slow.
My favorite thing to do is lock the throttle in the lowest position, point it at the enemy, and cruise into combat "bataille methodique" style.
