After 6 months or whatever it's been I think its clear moderation was a good idea. The forum seems cleaner with fewer junk posts knocking around for days and weeks on end, posts seem to get moved to their relevant sections promptly. Moderators all seem like sensible individuals who make reasonable decisions. So obviously the selection process worked. And I assume it freed up WG staff to get on with other things.

Thought it was worth saying, it has been better, good job.

Btw, this isn't an excuse to discuss any specific moderating individual or decision.

I thought I'd stick this post here so a few people at least see it before it gets placed wherever it should actually be.

I agree, it's a lot friendlier around here. However, no one seems to post codes anymore...

Yeah, but it was worth saying anyway, it could be a bit of a thankless task if nobody ever said the forum had improved.

I think the spirit of that is arguing the toss over decisions not generalised observations about changes to the forum.

Certainly an improvement.

Well done to you guys/gals that do it. I sincerely hope you get a little gold in your stocking at Christmas for your efforts.

TBH I find them far to efficient at closing threads.

I have, in the past, just been posting some witty reply to a post only to find that in between me typing and posting the blamed thread has been locked.

Back on topic, yes forum is a much better place although I do miss the 'Boop of nope':)

Best thing about the new team is that I do not have to struggle to understand the google translate English the former mods used.

So thats a good improvement. Sometimes I think they are a little harsh and quick with closing and relocating but it has become better indeed.

I think the wording of that could be improved.  It's not there to stifle debate, it's there so we don't get dragged into explaining every tiny decision.

I'm happy to receive feedback and discuss the overall moderating.

It's certainly nice to be appreciated.

Now do I move this or wait for the inevitable report?  I shall retire to my office to ponder the decision.

I wholly agree, much less garbage floating around and useless threads get promptly closed. So much so that I've not had to use the "report" button once since they've been active.

Good moderation :)
