No - people just think the EBR will improve their stats (which, statistically, it doesn't), grind for it thinking it's a FoTM, and need some time to realize that they do bad in it.

I don't think the playerbase is declining that bad, although from a gameplay perspective I don't think the game is in a good place.. if it gets dumbed down anymore you'll be able to play it on your mobile phone.

Goding? WG might be goading players to leave or stay, they simply don't care, I think the old sweats will stick around, any new player will be put off the game once the sheer cost of it all hits them, I rarely play WoT's now, tonight maybe an exception if my mate has got his internet fixed, but that is about the only time, dabble in FL once in a while other than that left for WoW's, far superior game even though that is going the same way as WoT's, money money money.

No players are not leaving World of Tanks.

During lock down there has been a surge of new players and returning players.

Look at the server numbers they are up.

A random match with 14 lights and 12 EBRs. Replay or it never happened.

But in a week when Front Line is available, normal randoms at all tiers will be different from when Front Line is not available.

Just doing what WG wants people to do, playing broken vehicles. Because "they might need to redo things" if they balance vehicles more often than after looking at data for 3-6 months.

Cause companies, who needs customers / players. It's not like there's other games for people to play - as long as WG does not need to do any extra / balance stuff multiple times.

Wait.

I have played only one game today

My H35 found itself at 8.30 pm UK time in a game with only 12 players per side, half of whom were Tier I

My side won of course, but it did suggest an element of no enthusiasm.

Normally I would expect a Tier II game to be full of Tier II & III tanks, not partly empty and with many Tier I

Did you miss update 1.9? There are only a couple of low tier tanks to play. After those you reach tier IV-V pretty fast.

It means that the aren't too many players playing those tiers anymore.

After a couple tiers they notice the lack of credits and start paying for a premium account. Then they notice that ain't enough anymore and there comes premium tanks.

Aha, that must be it

Well, at least it means that new players will have an interesting time wondering why they cannot pen my H35

It's just a lot of players playing perceived OP vehicles, it happens on all tiers.

Light tanks themselves, if you are a competent player, are among the most powerful class in the game especially in the mid tiers. Even the artificially handicapped higher tier light tanks are still good.

According to servers statistics on Wot-news yes. Active palyer count at the end of March almost went back to the chrismas spike but steady decline since than.  Wot cannot keep the new palyers and old ones are leaving. The wheechair epidmic is just one of the reasons why this game is garbage at the moment. Right now there are way better free to play option people can waste their time with. And i never in a million year suggest to play wot to any of my buddies.

Decreasing population is natural thing in MMOs and WoT is now about 10 years old, but in many games the population decreases and then again increases if the next expansion, patch, changes, ... is, are good.

WG did some good changed last about 2 years, but any positive changes they make, they screw up with negative ones - terrible maps, broken and OP tanks.

I am not sure if WoT is decreasing that much so that it would die in a few years. Maybe if geniuses in WG totally screw up crew 2.0 then maybe it could :D  . They have to be careful. And problem of WG is that they are not. They always say like they cant rush changes, work on one thing for a year, and then it looks like they rushed it anyway as it sucks hard.

Negative changes, stupid things, tanks, maps added to the game - angry players - sooner or later some of them leave.
