I was in a battle and there was an O-I out in the open, he wasn't moving at all. Maybe AFK or bot or his game crashed.

So I kept shooting him a couple of times and I saw that my shots damaged his tank, but none of the damaging shots showed up in my damage log. I thought OK, maybe it's a bug. But I checked the post-game stats, and none of my shots were registered. How can this be?

I encountered the same with a light tank on lakeville. His tank was in the water, the player was listed as being dead, but the tank was full health and visible (but didnt show on the minimap). My platoon mate shot at the tank with his kv-2, one shotting it + instantly reloading his derp gun.

If you drown you don't lose all your hp. Enemies can shoot down your hp but it does nothing.

I'm not sure I understand. I have accidentally drowned a couple of times and every time it happened, it immediately took away all my HP. And every time I saw someone drown, whether he was on my team or the red team, I've noticed that the same thing happens to them as well. So how is it that he drowned but had all his HP intact?

When they drown, or their crew all dies. You can still get some damage on them, but not nothing will be registered as "XP" damage as the tank is out of action. Thus nothing is listed in the scoreboard.

Sure, but the tank still has hidden HP, as in to get the destroyed model to appear. When you drown it's just as an indication that your tank is out of action. It still has not "activated" the destroyed model. That you still can do by taking away the hidden HP it has in some cases. But again, as the tank is already out of action. It won't reward any damage XP for it. Or give anything to you. As if anyone did drown him on your team by tracking etc. They already got the XP for his remaining HP iirc.

HP is always kept when somebody drowns for me. I can shoot them and deal damage but is doesn't give any credits or xp.

Weird how people say that hp is taken away when they drown.

I guess this is why some people claim that they never see non-arties drown, they don't even register when other tank classes submerge.

It's always been the case that a drowned vehicle keeps it's HP, this has never changed.

Why has this thread turned from discussing OP's post and missing damage, to tanks keeping their HP after drowning?

OP, please upload a replay. Here, on the official WoT replay site - http://wotreplays.eu/

It's possible someone else shot the tank at the same time you did and you thought it was your damage. Note the damage you (and your platoonmates) deal vs. the damage your allies deal to the enemy tank is shown in a different color on their healthbar. That's the only plausible explanation I can come up with but only a replay will confirm whether exactly that happened or if it's a bug.

Edit: I'm blind. Explained below.

Dude, he did post the replay and the victim drowned. See my screenshot if you don't trust the site

For easier replay access:

And while the drowning is obvious one thing is odd: it used to be that the HP bar of drowned tanks was depicted with a significantly darker shade, but in this replay it was just as bright as the still active tanks now that can be confusing. Heck, one of the other tanks called out the "need help with...(insert tank name)" which I think shouldn't be possible with a drowned tank.

Actually in one of my own replays an enemy tank that drowned popped up just as bright as a still fighting vehicle (I also tried to see if I could get a fire corridor on it)

http://wotreplays.eu/site/5368391#erlenberg-orkbert-t14

So i guess the newest update has a small bug that depicts drowned tanks that still have hitpoints as if they were still alive in the game.

Yesterday in randoms a GW E100 drowned but he remained visible on the map. Might be some bugs causing unusual things.
