Hello everyone!

So my friend's  screen goes black sometimes when he plays World of Tanks.
It happens only when he plays WoT, he tried launching the game in safe mode, as well as reinstalling the game. What really happens it that his Monitor shuts down, but the PC is still running, so he has to unplug the PC. This ussually happens at the start of the game and Mid-Game.

If anyone has any tips or a solution, it would really help. Thx.

I had this about a year or so ago.  The graphics card was in its death throws and wasn't providing a signal to the monitor, which caused the monitor to go into sleep mode.

It was sporadic within Windows, but frequent during the heavier load of WoT.

Eventually it died in Windows as well.

My advice test it on other games to see if it's WoT only or if it's in its death throws.

It only happens when he plays WoT. Any other game works normally

If you suspect that it is the GPU it could be overheating, install MSI Afterburner to monitor temps.

Also, happened to one of my PC's, check graphics card is properly seated in slot.

But keyboard sends a signal too : pressing the "shift" key should wake up a screen. Also doing some alt- tab or windows key + something.

Maybe the graphic card is over-heating ? He has to unscrew the fans and clean under them.

Best bet is to check the GPU,it does not matter if other games work fine.

Your monitor wants to reroll.

Try these links.

It is tempting to blame the game when it only seems to happen with one game, but it may simply be that WoT places just enough stress on your system to trigger the failure.

Good luck, and please keep us posted in your progress. Always happy to help.
