I've been building up a wargame army and ended up with a few questions I hope can be answered?

1) what are those 2 pipes at the back of the turret and the box they are on for?

2) how many AT missiles would they carry as a rule of thumb?

the pipes are I THINK some Mortar things, 60TP has one ingame

Box is probably for carrying ammo for that mortar.

I'd say 4

Aye other soviet tanks do have these pipes singular or doubled on the turret

I had wondered if they were a) part of a bio/chem air filter for the crew and/or b) part of an exhaust for the autoloader unit.

According to my book it's a snorkel for crossing deep lakes etc, giving the engine an ability to cross 5m deep lakes. Vs the 1.8m it normally can do. And it also says the normal ammo layout for it was 8 9M112 missiles and 24 shells for the early variants.

It also has that exact same picture. Saying it's an Ukrainian T-62BM... or a Bulat heading for combat during the recent conflicts there. Uses the 9M119 missile instead, and has an ammo capacity of 36 combined. With 28 shells and 8 missiles by default.

As for the box? No idea tbh. As on half my pictures of the M, it's there. On the other half, it's not. It's never mentioned.

As already said the pipes are a deep wading snorkel and the box, I believe it’s just a stowage box.

ah, thanks.

The pictures are more to show the two pipe than the type TBH. The wargame tank model being this one

You can see the box and two pipes as a separate item to glue on.

I guess they have to be removed and fitted for water wading? Then the box can be for tools etc.

If I remember correctly it's actually four pipes with two for the top right hand side turret hatch and then two (one with with the 'L' shape) for the engine compartment.

thank you for the answers, I would not have guessed they were for water wading.

Now we can have anti drown options in WoT on Soviet runaways lol?
