Hey, tankers!

Another British tank is about to roll onto the Supertest. This time it’s the Valiant, a Tier V medium. But is it as valiant as its name suggests? The Supertest will show!

Technically, the vehicle is an evolution of another British tank, the Valentine. The improvements were made in two areas: armor protection and firepower. As a result, the Valiant’s front and side armor is up to 114 mm, while its hit points amount to 800. As for the firepower, it was taken up a notch, too: its alpha is 110 points while the reload time is 3.9 s. The dispersion and the aiming time are 0.41 at 100 m and 2.3 seconds, respectively. While armor penetration with a standard AP shell is 91 mm and a special APCR round will pierce armor 144 mm thick.

The rest of its characteristics are quite mediocre, with a view range of 340 m, maximum speed of 19 km/h, and a power to weight ratio of 7.7 hp/tonne.

Spoiler

Summing up, the Valiant boasts a rapid-firing gun and armor protection that is decent for its tier. Conversely, mobility and dynamics are the vehicle’s downsides. Given these characteristics, the tank is good at supporting allies in breaking through enemy defense while inflicting much damage thanks to its gun.

Beautiful, I need this. This is perfect 3 marking material for me :^)

Now the question is - is this a premium, reward, collector's vehicle or part of a new tech tree?

When the average pen on the tier for mediums is 110+, I struggle to comprehend why this has only got 91

110 alpha is pretty much standard on that tier as well so that can not explain the horrible penetration either.

As I said somewhere else:

I always compare Tier 5 premiums to the Panzer V/IV (The way they should be balanced) and if they are not close to that, they are worthless.

The same goes for Tier 5 standard tanks by the way, most of them are absolute garbage for no good reason.

So...in essence the WG's "new tanks development team", under the supervision of some Lead Developer and signed off by XXXX Director, has made a worse Cavalier? Well, good game!

Let me geuss...this will be a premium as well...just like the tier 6 A46 Light Tank, that could have FIXED the [Edited] rework of, at least, the British light tank tech tree.

It, could have been put in the tech tree at tier 6, while leaving the Cruiser tanks, Covenanter & Crusader at their original tiers.

But nooo the change got pushed right through despite all the counter pressure feedback not to release the rework without a proper rebalance....So what's it gonna be this time?

Will the driver get injured randomly while operating the gear lever or the footbrake?

Block Quote

The design drawing for the A38 Valiant. Photo: The Tank Museum Archives
The design was armed with the proven 6 Pounder (57mm) gun, with a 7.92mm BESA machine gun mounted coaxially.

Everything else is historically correct, down to it's abysmal speed, then why the [Edited] have those big brains given it the 75 mm Gun Mk. V and not the correct: QF 6 pdr (57 mm) gun

Why these constant and downright inconsistencies?

You can use the Valiant to race Churchills, O-I's and still lose. Even the slowest TD's in top tiers or slowest tanks in lowest tier are faster than this thing. Imagine getting caught ANYWHERE by an arty (which btw drives faster than the Valiant).. Good Trolling WG!

Have WG just been lazy again with a near identical copy and paste of the British Heavy Excelsior tank

Ah sorry, I didn't make myself clear on what I meant, I meant the stats on this new tank are either the same(in some parts)or worse
