Can someone please educate me on the significance of these two tanks in the context of the German capitulation in Europe?

Well, as we know, it was the swedish whom initially rused the third reich into a false sense of security by first declaring neutrality in the 2nd WW.

But in secret, they were working on their tier 8 vehicles like the Lansen and Primo Victoria tanks. Once preperations were complete, the swedish armies swept through europe and liberated all the countries who are occupied during the german blizkrieg. We still refer to the swedish tactics used in those days as "reverse blitzkrieg".  Afterwards, the swedih left in peace because as with any large military operation, the boys would be home again by christmas.

Yes, they were used as crew trainers, and for farming credits.

Fun fact: they saw some use in Frontline mode as well.

They aren't on 'offer' they are just being sold, they seem to be the same price as they have always been.

Also the Berlin tanks are actually on sale as well.

I think it has more to do with WG wanting more money.

Sweden was independent and basically took no part in WW2... so naturally Lansen C (Swedish tank) was essential when attacking Berlin.

Frankly, why are you even asking this. Just buy the damn tanks already. Why do you hate freedom?

Okay, here it is. When the allies/soviets conquered Germany and Berlin fell, the allies wanted to raise a statue for the brave batalions of marching armies that risked their lives to do so.

However the plans were ultimately given to a swedish and french sculpter and they completely got the tanks wrong that were used in the attack on Berlin.

The french dude believed the IS tanks looked like an AMX, so he crafted a resemblance that is also known as the Lorraine 40t. And the Swedish sculpter mistook the M41  ( I believe it was) for what we know as the Lansen.

Years later when WG, as they say, toured the world for new designs for their game they came across this little tidbit of information and decided to make 2 new tanks to honour the battle of Berlin with these mythitcal tanks.

Hence they are now on sale.

There's a reason they have the best camouflaged bushwankers in the game... Who'd you think is held accountable for "tanks missing in action"

Ooh no, I wasn't triggered at all. I meant ro add on the joke by stating they farmed credits in secret by sniping the other who were at war, and as they have the best bushwankers they were never spotted.

The delivery of the joke was clearly off, lol.

Sorry, I also call them bushwankers because I watched too much Skill4LTU I think.

But I'm not teiggered at all mate

We all know WWII never actually ended and that we are still fighting the German dominance over Europe. Don't believe the peace hype.

Sweden has a history of meddling a little too much with rest of Europe's affairs in 15-19th centuries. Colonialism and all that. They have kept to themselves a lot more after that. Probably wisely so.

But tbh let's just say Sweden probably also don't want people thinking too much just why didn't Nazi Germany occupy also Sweden after Norway...
