19kph at tier 5, sounds like a blast.

19 km/h, low dpm, bad accuracy/pen. Armor not quite there to remedy all that.

It's got good gun depression, but no ability to reach any hills.

I wonder if they'll simulate having to cut the driver's foot off after it got stuck under the pedal?

Sounds ideal for a British LT.

I always compare Tier 5 premiums to the Panzer V/IV (The way they should be balanced) and if they are not close to that, they are worthless.

The same goes for Tier 5 standard tanks by the way, most of them are absolute garbage for no good reason.

You do wonder why anyone would want this when they could instead buy an Excelsior

This will probably steal the crown from Churchill GC and Black Prince as the worst tank in game

The funny thing is that the British Tier IV and VI premium mediums are all very effective and as they all have high pen guns they are great money-makers

I guess they needed a really bad one at Tier V to balance things out.

it was something like if a drivers foot slipped off the clutch, it would be stuck and there  would be no way of getting it out (except cutting out), but then again: surprise, because of the cramped space you needed to cut the leg off just under the knee...

in the end it was used for schooling. young commanders were taken into it and told to find as many flaws as possible.

The Panzer V/IV is overpowered and arguably the strongest Tier 5 tank currently available (not counting the leFH arty but that's a completely different gameplay), making it the gold standard all other same-tier tanks have to measure up is absurd.

Except for the gun, originally it had the QF 6 pdr (57 mm) gun. The 75mm was considered, together with a 95mm howitzer. Here is more info on it: https://tanks-encyclopedia.com/ww2/gb/A38-valiant.php

Block Quote

Due to poor reception of the 6pdr in the Valentine IX, the Tank Board suggested in February of 1943 that a 75mm armament was worked into the design of the tank, however, this was never implemented.

It's a good tank but not really overpowered, it's really powerful in the right hands, yes.

Problem is that all other Tier 5's are rather garbage especially for the gun(handling) they get.

Compared to the T14.
The T10 have as good armour or better.
Better mobility.
More HP (100).
Better aim time (0.1).
Preferential MM.

The Valiant have.
Better viewrange (10m).
Better accuracy (0.05).
