I've been playing this line and reached the tier 9 Patton...

Looking around in the tech tree i couldn't go past it without noticing a few things:

1. Why is there a tier 5 gun still present?

2. Why are there two other guns that nobody will ever use present, since you already have the tier 8 one from Pershing?

I mean honestly, I understand the Russian bias, but let's be real, US is better than Russia in reality in pretty much everything. So why not give it some love in game too?

Except value for money, but don't believe everything you read in the press......Russia is way up there with military tech. Let's not even laugh at the F-35 mess which would be eaten by the Su-57 as it's not allowed to go full speed in case it's tails falls off under stress....among many issues.

In mother Russia crazy dictator tells you to drink blea... oh wait.

If I can recall correctly, you cannot mount the Pershing gun on stock tracks. The Patton is an extremely painful stock grind. Old school WoT. The elite Patton is still a great tank though.

And I miss seeing baddies with hundreds of games in it using the 105mm derp.

Good grief....the average salary in Russia is $1000 a month...not a year. But in tech engineering it's 1,500-2000 a month...it's also cheaper to live there.

How did this go all cold war! He only asked about a gun. The fun of sticking your head above the parapet on the WOT Forum. In fact its the  only constant in the game.

Because he's living in the 1950's with regard to Russia.

It's a relic from the old tech tree and the meta back then, inc the wider MM. Ofc makes way less sense now.

Last time they reworked the tech trees on tier 8+. They remove a few stock guns and reworked the grind on the tanks they buffed. We can only hope they do it again on the planned 2.0 rework they have talked about for over a year now. As in removing 2 of the 90mm's on it. Anything is better than the current setup, as this tank is arguably the worst stock grind I've done. As you can't even out DPM most lower tiers that got in my face with the stock 90mm's. While the Type 61 with the stock gun gets over 3K DPM, barely got over 2K.

Russian military tech would be good in WOT, not in real world where it should be. Let's not start using magic mushroom. Armata is still imaginary wunderwaffe, How many su-57's will ever be built? Nine or 20 units? They are like T54's 20 km/h reverse speed, imaginary features. :D

Why they smuggle cheese from Finland to Russia then? It was not so long ago, when Russian dude was caught by Russian customs with 200 kgs of finnish basic cheese (4,99€/kg). I've read in papers that their own stuff is uneatable. Is there blackmarket to basic cheese in Russia? It is like in WOT when you get something to buy as a present.

All modern military gear is classified - by that logic, the depleted uranium core shells of the Abrams, it's armor, or that of the Leopard 2A5 and Challenger's, the mobility of the Leclerc or, since we also touched aircrafts, the Eurofighter's flight performance being great are all myths built from propaganda?

Also, last time I checked, the Armata seemed very real to me.

I sometimes wonder if I stumbled upon the NA Forum and I'm unaware of it.

Border crossing for cheaper products happens everywhere. In my Country we cross the border to the Republic of Moldova or Bulgaria for cheaper food and alcohol, in Norway they cross the border to Sweden to do their groceries since they're cheaper, Spanish citizens go into Portugal for the same reason, and Italian, French, German and Austrian people all go to Switzerland to deposit their savings or safeguard their stocks.

Does this make all of the above countries laughable?

Basically all the Patton needs is a slight buff to turret armor and pem and it;s back to a competitive tier 9 med. It's still a useable tank unfortunately you just need to run prem ammo in it because it's got tier 8 pen values.

I would guess historical accuracy. That's the only sensible reason I can come up with.

IS-4 still has the IS/KV-3 gun, BC 25t still has the (I think) old AMX 13 90 gun. Those are relics from the past. Those don't really matter, only the top configuration is important.

Sanctions from the Russian government impose an import ban of food products from the EU to Russia.

Imagine you had no access to French or Italian cheese from tomorrow. I'd buy smuggled mozzarella.

How much is an average month's rent in Russia and how much in the US?

Sure, there is a salary difference but there is probably also a difference in the expenses.

The problems arise when people from the "poor" country have to buy stuff from the "rich" country.
