Hello fellow tankers!

The time has come to put a really heavy metal object to the closed Supertest! More precisely, the Object 780, a Soviet Tier X heavy tank.

post-502699962-0-45153800-1589278499.jpg

Let’s dig deep into its characteristics. The 130mm gun reloading in 14 seconds has an alpha of 490 points, penetrating 263 mm of enemy armor with a standard AP shell and 305 mm with a special APCR round. The dispersion and the aiming time are 0.38 at 100 m and 2 seconds, respectively.

Protection-wise, the 2300 HP-strong Object 780 is a tough nut to crack, especially when it comes to the frontal armor with its favorable angles. The nominal thickness of armor here is 100 mm for the hull and 300 mm for the turret. For the dynamics and mobility, both are decent for a heavy: the tank can do up to 50 km/h with the power-to-weight ratio amounting to 17.5 hp/tonne

.

Spoiler

Summing up, the Object 780 is a bright offspring of the Soviet heavy assault tank family. With its mobility, it can freely choose a direction to attack and change it when needed. While the relatively low profile and the durable front armor allow for decent survivability.

See you on the battlefield!

There's not too much historical accuracy but could you at least make it with it's historical 125mm rifled gun instead?
And whenever APCR is gold i smell full gold loadout on many of them.
I'm curious will it be better than 277?
Probably more NO than YES, which is fine.
I suppose it's new CW reward tank. As long as CW reward tank is not CW meta tank it's nice.
Only DPM is simply sad...

I guess a lot of the tanks that we have in game were prototypes that stayed on paper or didn't make it to the front lines. The APCR pen on this one is not that good if you compare it to other TX tanks.

You can watch Raging Raptor's latest video and check the comparison that PhilX made.

I wouldn't consider it as a reward tank but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Not a reward tank? Maybe a possible tank that will be in the bond shop?  Also, I am glad it's not another russian heavy "Kappa"...oh wait :teethhappy:.

Thank God !

I have been waiting so long for a t10 russian heavy tank that is strong and powerful, the alternatives for this particular niche are soooooo bad.

Good job WG, i have full confidence it will be balanced well !

Yes but this one existed indeed with 125mm rifled gun, not 130mm one. I like to see unique things in game, even those small details.

I still miss looks of BL-10 gun that existed on ISU-152.

Anyway, I am quite sure it's CW reward tank. What else should it be for at tier 10...

New branches usually never appear on supertest.

Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss another super duper turbo mega spiffy ultra meta Soviet Heavy tank!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sceptic:

There are now enough of these things in game to start a new game mode.

"World of Soviet Wargamming"

This mode.

Only soviet tanks.

Only Gold/Premium/Speshul/  Bullets can be fired!!

Friendly fire on so the Speshull Players can team kill each other.

No arty so the uber turrets can sit hull down and spam gold at each other.

Wargamming open up Teir 11 and put these late 60's early 70's tanks in there and let the rest of the nations play.

TcP

Yes i do sound cynical.   Because i am.

Wargammmmming  do you wonder why T10 is not popular ???   there is your answer right there.   OP reward tanks,  OP soviet tanks.

Look at the stats sites and see the win rates for each class the top are just full of Soviet hardware.

Just what the Doctor ordered: a new napkin design Rasha heavy tank! We all know the game has far too little Soviet tank content so good job on adding some new historical actual operation tank to *cough* look forward to! Good job!

All of the previous branches were at one time on supertest.

You're quite good as you managed to make the existence of arty sound somewhat reasonable. Took me 2 seconds coming back to realism.

Nobody would play it, you need 'players' (fools) to be targets and give HP.

"They don't have enough tier X heavy russian op tank, let's put another one". I wonder if WG really has a team and not only 5 guys working there. You're breaking the game, while not even trying to add real updates. If we sum up all the updates of the last 2 years I am pretty sure that none of them imply a major part of the game. WG earned 40 million dollars with only 1 tank and they can't even pay someone actually good to balance the game neither to create real new contents (events are cool the first week). I'm developing my own games (so i know what i'm talking about) and I really wonder how can WG be that bad at developing new stuff that's a shame.

Wait a second this tank design is from 1972... a blueprint tank from 1972. So when can we expect T-72 in the game ? Those tracks are going to make a lot of people angry - front wheel are in front of armor.

Interesting choice of 130mm gun instead of 125mm gun. Also 2 second aim time is complete BS. that needs to be higher. I think it would be a better choice to give it 125mm gun and 440 alpha with heat anyway.

Let's hope Wargaming is going to buff that DPM because it's not looking great. Maybe the tanks has other traits to exchange for the bad DPM but still 14 sec to reload at 490alpha isn't really great.
