There's not much to say so I'll keep it brief.

I have anonymizer enabled...just to keep stats hidden...however, now I'm facing a different issue - racists/ethnophobes.

My nickname during the battle I was just in, was hidden as "emre(random numbers)". I went into a bush in my TD and an allied medium tank pushed me out of it...before calling me something which is offensive for the turkish.

It's because of the name. I can't believe it. People actually harassing others because of their username.

So can we agree that the anonymizer should use names with distinctive english words in them, to avoid these awful ethnical conflicts?...

As far as I can work out. They take names from the RU server. As if you search on the names you get, RU is the only place you get hits on. And most of the nicks I've seen have names with a country tag at the end of it. Mostly RU, RUS or Turk even.

The idea behind the system is that it will use names to make it look as real as possible. If it was just taken from a preset list with "distinctive" English words in them. It would be spotted a mile away at some point to get harassed over that instead.

It would be way better if we could type in the nick ourselves for it. Something you can change once a day or something.

This is why we use online nicknames, not our real names on the web.

Also you should not feel that personal, because it was not (at least not against the real you).

The world is always as ugly as it is. But how ugly depends on where you look at...

If you are getting offended by people making fun of your fake randomized ID, then you need to put away your comfort quilt and go see a specialist.

If you turn off the anonymizer then you'll just use your own username and won't have this problem. I don't understand what the issue is :child:

OP, will you ever be able to recover from this? I know my life would never be the same after such trauma.

I don't think that was OP's point.

Anonymizer was introduced to remove stat-shaming but introduced another level of "shaming".

That's just emphasis.

polishing cartoons - Humor from Jantoo Cartoons

In terms of getting annoyed over what people call an anonymised nickname then it would maybe help if people were more tank warriors than SJW's.

Riding your white charger for the good of the community has its place, but when an anonymised nickname abused another anonymised nickname which is itself a nickname it's stretching it a bit far.

To be fair it's already clear when someone is using the anonymizer if you're using XVM. The only exceptions would be lower tiers where you can expect stats to not have been collected yet, but it doesn't matter there anyway.

I got harassed because of it. Pushed out of a bush. You didn't even read my post, I suggest you go back to school, but I guess that's pointless because you probably wouldn't pay attention there either.

I feel you had no need to mention the actual phrase used in your OP. You could have made your point without publishing the words used. All you have done is built on the stereotyping that exists in the game. Please remove the actual phrase.

Words are symbols and symbols have meaning. You started the topic on the issue of words. Therefore symbols are 'on topic'.

To have freedom of expression you must also embrace the freedom to be challenged and the freedom to explain.

Unfortunately the forums tend to do this. It's always the same ''oh why you're so sensitive''. When I play a pixel tank game (or frankly do anything) and have fun, I'd rather not have someone be toxic and try to ruin that fun on purpose. What happened to you falls into that category and unfortunately whenever this kind of thing is brought up on the forums and talked against, people will be attacked and shamed. Apparently some like to be abused on daily basis cause they ''don't give a duck'' about it, but they give awfully lot of ducks when someone is trying to speak against that behaviour. It's quite interesting that talking against toxicity is being silenced when you think about it.
