Really, why is it even there?  Who would ever want to destroy equipment? everybody is going to sell it if its not needed so what exactly is the purpose of the destory button?

And yes I did destroy large rammer by accident today.

Because you might want to change equipment  and dont want/are unable to use gold to do so?

Maybe it is there to trick people who don't realise they can remove things by gold so they waste their credits.

It's there to make F2P players feel bad and encourage them to buy some gold. Pretty obvious really.

I suppose but then again 10 gold is really insignificant, I would rather buy smallest amount of gold and use it for this purpose only than to lose equipment.

You can't demount complex equipment from a tank for free or with credits. You can only demount it with gold. Or, you can destroy it, which demounts it and lets you choose a different piece...

It's a poor man's way of removing it. Why get your tooth pulled out at a dentist's when you can just tie one end of a string to the tooth and the other to a car and potentially dislocate your jaw or worse? :great: (cartoonish example, I know)

What with the tank rewards giving out equipment,  it is not such a problem for those with a barred wallet.  Also, better spend your gold on premium tanks that generate credits real quick, or training crews.

Alternatively, some people just like to destroy things...

I've destroyed plenty of the enhanced suspension while going through tech trees credits are easyto replace, gold generally has to be paid for with £
