I only have a few mods, one is a reticle change for one I can live with & the other is the sixth sense timer that I found on the wot forum & XVM. But is anyone else getting annoyed with the relentless updates that changes practically nothing but makes us reinstall mods to the new folders? Surely these mod folder version changes should be for significant updates only. Not when they add or remove events or some minor bug fixes. I'm all for keeping things up to date, but from what I was told by Champ, the update to mods is only the version indicator & nothing more, so why force this onto mod devs unnecessarily?

I've never seen a game update so much & yet offer so little.

I remember using solos mod pack and stopping because of this same issue.

You are right.  But this is a topic for forum of that specific mod pack, not wot forum

I do apologise, I posted this question as it was game related. Seeing as others seem to post about idiotic things about posters they've found inside buildings within the game.

lol yes.

As for the original issue, just ignore updates and instal every 3rd or 4th.

In that case, just move the installed mods into the new folder? It isn't really worth updating the mod for every micropatch and just focusing on updating it when an update actually causes issues with the mods (namely crashes of course). From my perspective I would expect constant updates to continue with all the events and stuff going on (like the anniversary stuff, Road to Berlin, Frontline), so I'm kinda holding off on updating my own mods until I feel comfortable that I won't have to update it only a few days later.

I tried that & sometimes they force the game to exit before the login screen shows. XVM does that especially.

Look at it this way, it keeps the cheat mod users in check.

Were you not going on recently about getting WG to remove the 'res_mods' folder to stop cheats?.....lad, get your story straight!

Yes, I think the game would be better without the mods folder or any mods. Doesn't mean I'm not going to use it until they do. So I don't see why I need to get my story in check. I believe this game should be played with no mods at all. Until that happens, I'll make use of them while I can. Now if I had been using gold ammo, then i'd be a hypocrite & you'd have an argument to make.

One does not go against other. He would prefer res mod removed but if not this is another issue.

no he is not.

For example, I would like world peace but if not possible at least some wars to end. Does that make me a hypocrite?

How do you know, are you decompiling the code?

Check his history....he dabbled in what he complains about......of course it was all in the line of testing!

I use perfectly legal  mods that is shared on this forum for everyone to use freely. I would prefer this game not allow mods at all as I believe it would make things better, but until that happens I'm more than entitled to use mods without being a hypocrite. Because I never said I hate mods & wouldn't use them, I only ever said I wish this game didn't have them. I also have said I'd like to see WG a subscription based game to weed out bots & the stupid. Doesn't mean I'm going to set up a standing order to WG does it.

Stop trying to insinuate things to try & provoke a reaction so you have something to report. It's not going to work anymore!

I asked the author of the sixth sense timer, you know. The normal way of finding out things you don't know. You should try it instead of presuming!

The question was a sarcastic jib not a real question. A bit like saying, how do you know? are you psychic!

...but a valid question nonetheless. You don't know if they've added the files to a tank or what not.

As a sidenote, I may not agree with everyone bringing up you used cheats, but I'd reccomand not trying to deny it when they do. It makes you look like a fool.

There is the "updates" folder, where you can zip up the .pkg file inside and then open it in WinRAR Or whatever and see roughly what has been changed. It's mostly only folders and whatnot and isn't often all too specific, but does work to give you an idea. :hiding:

Use Aslain's Mod, you just download and run one thing whenever the version changes.

So one mod didn't need changing.  What about every other mod?  Did you go round all the mod makers and ask them too?

The mod folders change because there is a potential for mods to be broken, there really is no option.

You can always just run vanilla, it works for me.  If you are going to use mods then you are going to have to put up with the minor inconvenience.  The alternative is a potentially broken game for a  number of players.

That's another option but it would entail comparing the changes with the files used by every single mod on the mod hub.

But it appears VsUK went for the one mod isn't affected so no mods are affected theory.
