Heyo! :)

after a long grind and gold spam i finaly got the bonds for the 121B.

Spoiler

and now that i utterly and completely destroyed my economy by playing tier 10, Shooting almost nothing but gold and using big repair, med, fireEx's consumables for 40-50 games per day for 2 weeks with Premium time i made Grand total of - 5 000 000 credits. so i need to build up again and while i do that i will throw this new crew in to my T-34-3 and train it up and collect more credits so i can ressume my regural tech tree grind. so i have time to plan and ask for advise.

what equipment should i mount on the 121B? (i have some purple things from the RtB and non premium battle pass)

what skills should i train and in what order? (i am not going to reset skills to select new ones so it has to be done on one go)

what kind of play style suits it?

any cool things it can do on certain maps that not many tanks can do? (like the T-57 Heavy can shoot trough the Windows in E1 in pilsen)

VStabs/Rammer/Optics, y'know, the standard set-up.

Commander: BiA -> Sixth Sense -> Recon -> Repairs

Gunner: BiA -> Snap Shot -> Repairs -> Camouflage

Driver: BiA -> Smooth Ride -> Repairs -> Camouflage

Loader (Radioman): BiA -> Safe Stowage -> Situational Awareness -> Repairs

I wouldn't train BiA As the first skill however. Being a perk and all it's only effective at 100%, it's better to retrain to it at the 3rd skill or something. I personally would go with repairs over camouflage as it's simply more comfortable in most situations IMO.

Mid/long range I presume. You have an accurate gun, solid pen (350 HEAT Especially is memes as I understand) and 420 Base viewrange means you can spot enemies fairly damn effectively, especially when you add equipment/skills to boost it up (Optics/BiA/Recon/Sit. Awareness puts it at 496m viewrange). The turret is not as strong as something like the 430U, or the T-34-3 You're more familiar with at a lower tier and will not hold up as effectively close up, and the hull is effectively paper, so you're going to want to avoid actual brawls where possible.

I dunno.. it can hulldown some places? Kinda specific question really, and as someone who doesn't own it I certainly couldn't answer that.

specific yes but i assume it being about same size as 121, 430, 140, T62 and all that good stuff, and me not playing them that much maybe there is some stronk positions i could use that i could not in say: JPE-100 or T-57.

Well as far as equipment goes, i switched from optics to vents long time ago, i really see no much reason to use optics on tier 10 meds, with fully skilled crews there is enough VR already anyway. only autoloaders arguably might run optics, just because they cant mount rammer, but even on those i dont use optics, i rather have everything focused on firepower.

My setup when I marked it.

Don't trust the gun, it is another Skorpion G. Also, the turret cheeks can be penned with 250mm+ so not that reliable hull down. Basically play it like an E50M.

I've already closed WoT down for the night, but crew skills are pretty straightforward stuff, bia, repairs, camo across all, then prioritising skills that increase gun handling, view range. I mean all the crew skills across most tanks these days are identical really aren't they?

I have 20k bonds left, but i'm kinda waiting to see if there will be other tanks in the bonds shop before I spend my bonds.

Like say if a 907 suddenly pops up, i'd much rather take that instead of the 121B.

Still tempting to buy the 121B though, since I already have the M60.

I got worried that WG would just swap out the tanks for New ones without saying anything, and with my luck it would be just before I got the bonds for it. So in fear of this I started a power grind, went from 12 000 bonds to 15 000 in about 3 weeks. 1st week was FL and tier 10 and the rest 2 weeks were pure tier 10. With some few premium tank games and few of them being sold.

Now I have the 121B and WG can swap out the Bond shop tanks for New ones when ever they want.  :P

Because as far as i know the spotting range does stack up even tho you can spot the targer at 445m

Lets say a tank is behind some kind of bush or uses camo net and camo something like that… this is what how it Works for all i know.

but how effective it is in the end i dont know. does coated really offer any significant advantage over of what Vents give to view range and gun stats?

??? :teethhappy: what's this?

Viewrange is indeed usefull above 445m, compensates the camo of tanks / bushes.

Also, have fun in your 121B!

I'm just above 15k bonds now (never spend it on anything) but I will hold off till the shop is changed as I don't want any of the options they have now bad enough.

Dont laugh at Naa. :(

I had little time when I woke up as I have things to do so I dont have access to my PC for a moment, so did a Quick view range thinggy on how a tank with 500+ view (binos) spots tanks from bushes at range and how coated and not having optical aid compare in a Quick made in 5 minute paint drawing.

Binos offer a huge advantage IMO but you need to actually stop to use them which might not be the best option for a active tank.

And I have no idea how effective it really is in the end.

For me 121b is one of those vehicles that looks nice on paper statswise but is pretty underwhelming once you play it.
Type 59 is the only Chinese tank that I really like to play in these times.

Whatever mate, im just bad at this game, i guess, why the hell you need optics with 420 base? VR is overrated.

Congrats.

I am still about 4K bonds short for it.. I already had the FV215B and had saved up all my bonds at the opening of the shop and got myself the Patton. The 121B is the second one I would like to get my hands on, or something else if they change it.

121B has already 420m base view range. Ditch optics for vents.

EDIT: Seems others said this already. IMHO view range is overrated in current tier 10 meta, I switched to vents in most tanks.

I would have picked vents but i do assume there is a reason why pansy and hyina went with optics.

I have no idea if 496m view range is any better than 450m maybe due to stacking it might spot tanks from bushes easier but have no idea if actually matter that much over fire power.

Vent argument is solid but optics seem a little iffy.
