These should be the best heavymed hybrids available in the techtrees, and it so happens that I have both the T-10 and WZ-111 1-4 researched and upgraded, so I could grab one, grind a few days, and then get myself a good Tier 10.

Thing is, these two tanks are very similar, so I'm wondering which one is more worth the time and credits needed to acquire it, hence this thread.

If you people can help me out and decide which is the better investment, it'd be great. :)

xi jin ping shocked that you even ask. You do not admire great chinese victory achieved under the leadership of the party with the portrait of mao.

I am sure your phone isn't huawei either.

277 is a better medium tank.

277, the armour is just better and so much more trollish.

Both are 9/10 or 10/10 tanks.

People seem to be split on which is best.

So play both of them and find out for yourself.

Could just be me, but I am looking to get T10 tanks with good base penetration to prepare for the ammo changes (though they seem very distant at this point)

265 mm base pen on the 277 feels fantastic. Could potentially make the tank much better than the WZ if such ammo changes do eventually go through.

What makes the 5A better for randoms? Also, wouldn't a tank strong in competitive also be strong in randoms as well?

The reason why 277 was used in competitive is mobility. It was the fastest heavy tank in the game with trollish armor and no big drawbacks. Now we have Chieftains and 260s and 277s have dropped. Chieftain is good in everything and if you necessarily need very fast heavies you go with 260s. 277 is only used if you need high alpha.

In randoms 277 doesn't have much going for it over 5A other than armor maybe. You can also compare serverwide statistics of both tanks and notice that even tho 277 is much more new tank it still has lower average dpg and winrate than 5A. And tank being best pick in competitive doesn't mean that it will be best pick in randoms nor other way around. In competitive you need to have tanks with trollish armor and high mobility for tactics. Trollish armor works always even against top players but raw armor doesn't. In randoms you don't need to be that fast, because often you just go to position and hold.

5A edges for me because of the DPM and gun depression. 277 is definitely more mobile though, has some sort of magic ability to go faster than its attributes suggest because on paper it has the same mobility pretty much as an IS-7 but its much faster in practice.

I dont know clan wars, but in random games, I prefer 5A to 277, especially when top tier.

I would definitely pick WZ over 277 for randoms, it is just a lot more comfortable to use. Every time I use 277 in randoms I'm left wondering why would I ever pick 277 over 430U.

Also I might be slightly biased because I despise 277, derpiest gun in the history of derp guns, it feels like 9/10 snap shots miss, hull never bounces anything, and if do find some awesome position friendly neighborhood arty will be there to shave off 1000 HP with 2 splashes.

I feel like 277 is just a better 5A. What does 5A has over 277 ? only DPM but 277 has better armor and better penetration. I am using very few premium ammo so for me 265 vs 250 is a difference.

so it wasn't only me?

the tank itself is really nice, but man alive the gun is derpy. the shells are fantastic, but the accuracy seems to be close the IS-7 levels of derpyness

In my opinion for a player who can make 5 gun depresion work, the obj277 should be a litle bit better. But for a player who really needs to have - 8/10 depresion to play hull down and so on, the wz-111-5a would work way way better.

Pd: Aparently a lot of good players prefer 5A so IDK. Personally I find 277 a litle bit better on everything except gun depresion and dpm.

Object 430U. Has more armour than those 2, is faster, smaller, with more reliable gun and nobody will curse you for going with the meds, instead to try stop enemy heavies.
