This was such an unfair game to everyone involved.

The result is obvious. Battle duration 3 min. Score ....

Why isn't the MM more rating based ? (Im fairly new so no idea if this was the case in the past).

Uninstall XVM and you will be astonished how quickly these kind of things become unimportant.

Because skill based matchmaking sucks. Armoured Warfare tried it because their player base demanded it. The player base hated it and the game died.

It's also a good lesson in why developers shouldn't blindly listen to their players.

WG do seem to have that part sorted - basing most of their changes on statistical analysis, rather than ranting.

XVM for me just gives me an idea of expectations from both teams. It's not an exact but a players rating is a good reflection on their overall ability to play the game. Say, if you come up against a player with 70k+ games & a win rate over 60%. You know you're going to have to play smart. But if the win rate is low 40s & only a 3 or 4k games played. You know the mistakes you make won't be that costly so you can afford to be a little more bold.

To find players on the enemy team that are as stronk as he is,

so that he and them can have a duel, a clash of the titans.

Unfair MM he says.

Both teams have 4 heavies.

Both teams have 4 mediums.

Both teams have 3 TDs.

Both teams have 3 LTs.

Both teams have 1 Arta.

How is that unfair?

Other than one having 2 wheelchairs and the other only 1 wheelchair.

You should try getting teams like this. I mean it's relentless today, game after game I do my best & I look up to see what the team are doing & they're almost all dead.
But I'm sure some smart (you know what) I'd say it, but apparently we have a community of snowflakes. But I'm sure someone will suggest you do something better like 1 player can carry an entire team of lemmings.

I agree with some that skill based mm won't most likely work. My overall stats are not even close to my recent performance on tier X. But I do think WG should do something to make the battles last a bit longer instead of either team collapsing in the first few minutes. Maybe punish drowners, make report system better so trolls and afks gets banned etc. as starters.

dont agree with you...

Of course, skill is important, but on RNG basis...in other words, you can aim well, but RNG can just make you miss.

so if you really want skill-based MM, you should also remove RNG in this kind of MM.

Unfair is you see rigged battle and report it, but get standard answer. You can see this replay in my named YT channel.

To be fair, "that other game" failed because they did EVERYTHING their players wanted. As most of them were people leaving WOT for something better. And they wanted to show they could come to them instead. Thus there was no balance on one change vs everything else they did. As there is indeed a difference between listening, considering and looking if it's needed. And then testing it alone and vs other changes to see the impact. So that one small change might take 6 months to implement. AW just tossed everything on live less than a week after people asked for it with no test hoping it would work, on several things at the same time. And it quickly became an unbalanced mess.

As far as the skilled-based MM fail? Well for starters theirs only worked from one angle. And more or less only did pitch equals vs equals vs mixing it a bit. As again, that's what players wanted. Bots to be on their own. Players like OP would only play with 44% and thus learned nothing. They got bored and left. 65% players suddenly faced more equals, and their WR dropped like a rock. As not all 65% can keep their 65% when facing more equal players. Thus they left as they lost more then they were used too suddenly. Average Joe was more or less the only silent one, and more or less the population that remained.

This is so unfair MM!

Can't quite put my finger on why but I get a strange kind of feeling this should have been in the pinned MM Discussion thread.
