There is it again: after one or the other lost battle where I apparently did something else than what someone would have preferred (at least, that's what I assume), a message appears. "Go play tetris" is a popular one. Barbies, Lego, all kind of games and toys that apparently does not meet the masculine standards comes by from time to time. Why is this community often so toxic? A well thinking man would know that if you take out all players who are less skilled, it would only leave one to turn out the light. And yes, I admit: I have bad games (I also have good games, but who notices). Always blaming the others. I never get a message "sorry, you were good but we lost because I made a big mistake".

What is this? How can we improve the atmoshepre in this game, of which I assume people play it to have a nice time?

Ignore it like a normal person would? Stick and stones and all that... it's part of life unfortunately, It would be nice if everyone is nice to everyone else but they aren't so either deal with it, report it or ignore it. Personally I'm quite sad if I don;t get at least 2 pm's a night telling me to die, get cancer/aids/ebola etc as it usually means I've played well. I actually enjoy conversing with these people because it takes you all of 30 seconds to make them look foolish whilst having a laugh at their expense when they get angrier and angerier..

People don't play to have a nice time. The object of the game is to demonstrate your superiority over others in any way you can.

There is a certain type of player that has always been here - they will always be here.
If you find you can't ignore it, disable the chat, because they will never, ever go away.

Tetris is hard, you never get

the figures you need because it is rigged.

I prefer My Lidl Pony.

As others said ignore it after all how many go to the trouble of sending a positive message when you have a great game compared to players whining when in their opinion you mess up.

WoT is a game playing on frustration, no surprise players react that way.

Oh god I tried that kind of message, the more factual possible.

100% of the answers were : "stfu noob".

I believe that 80% of the Wot players turned that way, most leaved the game before getting mad.

toxic behaviour is every game its not unusual.

i praise the toxic comments that i get. expecially from people that got rekt by me and then come sending me messages after the game whining. Telling me how great player i am and how bad they are. yeah.. that seems about right. :girl: and i sit there and think

People who tell you to go play Tetris or learn to play or any of the other typical low IQ responses just highlights why some people really do need to grow up. No one has any right to say how you should play or to try & diminish your opinions on things because they don't consider you as good as they or whatever.

Have u ever tried Tetris? Go play Tetris! It is a good game.

By the way: "Play something else" is not about masculinity at all. WTF(udge)? It is the least toxic* way of telling you, that your play style is not up to the average.

So here are some tips:

  1. Do not be so easily insulted
  2. Get better
    1. Watch tutorials
    2. Read the wiki about battle mechanics
    3. Join a Newbe-Clan, they help newbes.

* Srsly, neither on the internet, nor in the game is the described behavior outstanding. They will tell you a lot of worse things, that one I guarantee.

It would be nice if everyone is nice to everyone else

ACtually no, it owuld not be nice.

It would be incredible boring. We are not made for this. An example: we tend to not watch movies in which everything is fine for 2h. We watch action movies, horrorfilms, thrillers and such stuff. Human spirit is about conflict and dominance and always will be. It is in our DNA as a herd animal.

PS: romantic movies are about conflict as well, just emotional, not physical. Think about a romantic movie without conflict! "Hello, I like you" "I like you, too." And then they married, and they live happily ever after.

PPS: There is a reason why "They lived happily ever after" is the ending to stories. Because there is no conflict in it, therefore it is boring and not worth a story.
