Lot of people are triggered that it is "yet another city map". Well, I think its not. Its like Kharkov, Minsk or Siegfried line. They are all half city and half opened. I personaly enjoy playing in city parts also with my MTs and TDs, you just have not to be afraid of taking a hit - thats why you have 2000HP and not 1HP.

BUT if you dont like it, then there is the other half of the map where you can enjoy free space and camper-spotter duels. And in Berlin, its right there! The whole lower third and most of the middle is for you ;)

This map is going to be nice, but there is one thing that is setting it back... Red line camper bushes. And those campers that sit there are the reason why If you are aggresive there, you will be feasted on. So lot of players are forced to city part and here they are whining on city maps :/

I hope all Maus's in Berlin will be as dumb as the bots in the PVE event.

Played over 30 tier 10 battles on the test server, didn't get Berlin even once. How do you exactly gather data when no one is producing any at all?

Beautiful virtual recreation of historic time and place, you certainly managed to capture the atmosphere, great job!

Well done Wargame a brand new Map Berlin for WOT and its only taken you 2 years … hmm

However its yet again another CITY Map ..

clearly WG has a thing about forcing its players onto brawling City Maps for reasons probably only WG know, as we don't, Still enough moaning about City Maps

Really cannot wait to try out a brand new Map and its also the biggest map in Randoms 1050km x 1050km

hoping that although its (another) City Map it will have enough flanking areas large enough to relocate for both MT,s and LT,s to have a great game in

TD,s never do well in City Maps … so we will see how this all goes

Big thanks for a new map WG!  its been a long time coming

Did you not play PvE mode?

It has wide open spaces, that is also due to the nature of Berlin around Brandenburger Tor and Reichstag.

What else is well balanced in WOT ? LOL. There maps so one sided biased yet they never try to balance that . I say let see first . From a  bitter experience with wargaming i learned not to get excited of news.

That would be enormous

The Berlin map is 1050 x 1050 meters.

Corridors,

Class-designated areas,

Open killing fields for TDs and Self-Propelled Guns,

The fact that WG itself said they do not want maps without newbie safe, OP areas

What's there not to enjoy?

This. There is no longer a mix of areas. You just have simple divides. Like what they did to Erlenberg, Steppes, Pilsen, Kharkov

Simple maps for simpletons.

imho maps do not need to be balanced because ... boredom

And in theory you get to play the ''good'' side 50% of the time and 50% the ''bad'' side anyways.

(although we know that this 50-50 is only true over 1000 games)

While spawning on the ''bad side'' forces you to be creative to deal with the disadvantage and if you pull a victory against all odds it is much more satisfying.

There are already plenty of ''balanced'' (corridor) maps that are so similar in concept that you do the same thing over and over and over, no matter what map or side you spawn. Just drive up to point x in your bobject and go block-block pew-pew and ping-ping-ping the map on players that are not where you want them to be.

Those are also the reason you get roflstomped or assasinated by good players who have learned to use the other terrain features besides the predetermined HT, TD, etc spots.

Besides, because of rushing to those predtermined spots you dont really notice how beautiful and detailed most maps are, a lot of work went into them.

If it were up to me, i'ld throw a dart on a world map, do a feasability check (Vatican city, Vanatu island, Mnt Everest would probably not be workable) , get the geo & heightmaps  & sattelite images and work from there. And if they are not balanced, so be it.

btw as for the argument that WG wants balanced maps with ''safe spots for newbies''... the solution is to not expose them to the larger, more complex & inbalanced maps till they reach tier-IV or -V.

also also, wtf is good about ending up in a tier-X tank on a small map where you get spotted and shot at by an HT camping his red line when you 2 cm forward at your spawn? Yes, Mines, Province, Ensk, ...

Just look at it. It's almost the exact same as the "new" Kharkov map, just rotated.

Stalingrad had more corridors than a Wallmart and it was still possible to rush to the enemy base, spot some vehicles, dispatch a clicker and return to safety.

But if you ran into a wall = game over.

In that map, the problem (corridors) was the solution.

Berlin's uniqueness (assuming it's the same as on RTB event) only has to do with the fact it has minute covers, walls where you can shoot through peeking with your turret, topographic elevations and depressions, etc.

But we played it South-North, not East-West. So, most of the cover will be useless.

Can you all stop whining?! You didn't yet played on this map and already whine...

Lets try it first and then we will give our judgement.

they do not complain based on what they have not seen... they complain based on what is their experience from WG each time they release or rework a map....

the map is described on a post above ... it is a city map with an ebr playground... yet another useless map....  the "riverbed in the middle reminds me of another abandoned unbalanced map.... i think it was stallingrand or something (who cares about the name anyways).....

so do not tell em not to whine

the best news we have sinve a really long time is the cancelation of rubicon epic fail and the new graphics.... no improvement in ingame  gameplay elements (gold spam,  illegal mods,  MM balance, vehicle cap -like no more than 1 arty per side etc- and some other elements that would be quality of life stuff (like crew auto placement , equipment auto mount -and not having to check where the heck u placed last time ur binos when u own more than 100 tanks) etc.....

even the latest events would be futile and 0  player counts if not really special rewards (bonds- tanks not available otherwise etc) ....

they should surprise us a bit (like reworking economy system and not inventing a new currency every time some ruskie imagines a new mode- contest - mission etc,  reward players as a unit (if u kick [edited]in a loss u should be kickass rewarded also and not getting some stupid exp and credits, rework  global map to regain its glory (more rewards for  more clans that participate and even better for the ones who  hold up their ground), make the game a bit fun as well , stop introducing OP tanks (especially premiums) and rebalance some vehicles that r UNplayable, restore some uniqueness and not playing the same tank slightly improved from level to level (it is extremelly boring) , and then some may start expecting news in a good way..... the game had its glory days and used to be fun , but something changed in the proccess....

Have to ask, am I only one who is bothered about many movie and game companys trying to "erase" history by deleting/modding flags, ornaments and logos, because they might insult someone in present day.
Otherwise nice looking rendering =)

yeah the PC imposed by purple haired screeching harpies is really tiresome...

However, in Germany the law forbids nazi symbols, so if included in WoT the game would be banned in Germany.

I think it's all over EU forbidden by law, but most games and movies still are allowed to use them, because of it's relevant on historical point. Correct me if i'm wrong =)
And there could be just option like in grand battles. Show historical relevant symbols , even that this may hurt your feelings. [ x ] no [  ] Yes.  :D
