Hello,

What happened with the T-2 controversy, I was playing on and off at the time and don't remember what happened other than there was a fun new game mode but the missions were way too hard for me to do so I never bothered trying

WG got backlash for the rigging. WG nerfed it to the ground, nobody plays it anymore. make other broken tanks like 279(e) and 907 instead.

So there IS precedent for WG nerfing reward tanks?

They could always nerf reward tanks (and have done). they cant touch premiums tho.

Are clan wars tanks like  fake T95 Chieftain come under scope of reward or premium tanks?

All tanks earned by clanwars are classed as "reward tanks" so even they can be nerfed. WG just dont like nerfing OP clanwars toys because they know clanwars will be dead knowing full well the players who grinded ages in a game mode nobody would play otherwise if not for the (blatently) overpowered tanks.

Like the Stug IV or 260 etc... There is nothing protecting them from adjustment if needed. Up or down.

They do.  But as WG has explained, that kinda makes a bit of sense. 279e etc is atm owned by a few. And most of those are 60% + players. And nerfing tanks based on data played by only good players, vs one that is widely used by both 43% and 62% alike is not easy or quickly done. T-22 was owned by good and bad, and the data showed it was clearly overperforming, and was in more or less every tier X game.

Then top that off with the backlash the event had due to all the rigging during the late hours. They had to do something to counter the high flow of T-22's at the time. That backlash is why events since then have a cease-fire during the night. So that when the population drops low enough, you can't rig it easier.

Vaguely remember watching a video of a 2-3 platoon of batchats in the first 20 seconds ramming a E100 or a Maus

Some corrections:

"279e etc is atm owned by a few. And most of those are 60% + players."

1.) in fact players use 279 e between 48% and 60% overall winrate.

2.) using 279e gives that particular player an 7%-8% increase in winchance.

"T-22 was owned by good and bad"

well T22 was owned mostly by cheaters.

If you interested I happily tell the whole story why.

It's probably in my best interests to close this one as well, even if Sax didn't specifically ask for it when he jumped off the forums. Let's not use this thread (or others) just to attack a user who's left.
