I can't help but notice these 4 locked threads...

http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/744547-bond-shop-help/

http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/744552-2-replays-to-review-for-me-help-saxsan-improve/

http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/744391-help-me-pick-tank-reward/

http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/744561-game-is-less-toxic-recently-fourms-on-the-other-hand/

All were closed at OP's request, with the end message - "Mods PLEASE DELATE - I am leaving forums - bye all"

To say I am worried would be an understatement.

This thread is obviously unrelated to gameplay, but certainly belongs right here in "General Discussion", where most people go to.

We need to talk about toxicity and behaviour on this forum...things need to change. This is not okay.

As someone who has experienced this on their own skin, I know all too well it ain't easy to deal with, especially for someone who isn't as mentally stable as I am.

I've got a bad feeling...saxsan4 might need some real help, meanwhile the forum is as ruthless and vicious as ever...shame on all of y'all.

I for one was never used to this type of toxicity as in the previous gaming community I was in, any bad behaviour was dealt with in the same minute. No exceptions. Not that I was shocked by learning WoT is one of the most toxic on the globe.

I don't know what you refer to when you state "real help".

If this means IRL then saxsan4, you or anyone else should resort to this blight place last.

If not and it is as per his forum posts, I suspect his "rate of fire" is what drives people away from giving positive, helpful advice, and those who reckon him as a troll, well, troll him. Same happens to me.

WG doesn't care unless it's something way out of line. And neither does your average forumite. They had 10 years to do something and they haven't. Community driven moderation was a much needed but minor improvement.

On the other hand, and I apologize for sounding condescending, you might be exaggerating.

As per above, this is the internet. Well intended community or not, nobody will ever know if someone needs serious help or is trolling. Not you, definitely not me, and most people won't.

I am only toxic in the game chat when my "team" asks for it.

Forum is for banter.

Really the forums are toxic and vicious??? I think it says more about you than the forums. These days pointing out someones idea is silly or just disagreeing with people is seen as toxic.

I dont know the guy and havent been around long so hopefully this isnt a cry for help in disguise.

I've seen a few mental breakdowns unravel in public on my local areas facebook site and these people generally aren't thinking rationally and will react with extreme sensitivity to any views differing to what they expected to receive when posting.

But as others say you just dont have a clue.

My simple two cents (from me as a poster, not as a mod); just as in-game, you have to wear a bit of a thick skin especially if you're not someone who takes criticism or anything like that well. Otherwise, the ignore function exists for a reason; you don't always have to read every post someone makes at you and if you're unhappy with the way a particular poster responds to you, well, just block them (and it helps not to announce that you're blocking them, that's just silly).

Personally i didn't see any issue with the post that caused his reaction, it was a fair point that was being made and the wording at least for me wasn't overly harsh.

If you're going to post to an internet forum you need to be fully prepared for the fact that some are going to disagree with you, and be open to any criticism that comes your way or at least try to take it on the chin or else we will just end up with a pink and fluffy echo chamber.

It sounded like Saxan4 had some serious mental issues, profounded by having too much time on his hands due to quarantine. He was bound to have a meltdown sooner or later. Never seen anyone spam down an entire internet forum to the degree he did.

If people want to reduce forum toxicity, simply stop making posts crying and moaning over everything.

I generally have a lot of fun trolling the trolls and crybabies, but I cant think of a single time Ive actually felt angry posting here :)

Glad I didn't post in any of those threads. But on topic, the posts of that poster were freaking horrible. Hard to blame others for toxicity if you set up the bait like that.

Toxicity and rudeness as such are issues.

But some threads are bad/stupid/whiny objectively. Ignoring that and giving every a gud-poaster tag is toxic as well.

Considering their history on the forum then I’d assume that the negative responses were exactly what they wanted.

I have seen toxicity and negativity send people to scary dark places in various places online over the years..

not everyone has the mental fortitude to deal with all the verbal abuse thrown at them on the internet..

That being said, I am not sure what the exact deal is with this guy and the rest of the forum community..

but all i know is ..

Some people can break because of words..

What one calls 'toxicity', another will call, 'banter'. And another, simple rudeness, blunt, ...etc, the list could go on.

You can't protect everyone, all the time. Because of, 'words'.

People have different coping levels, and more importantly, different ideas on what defines, 'Toxicity'.

I feel, one or two, may have blunt, in this guys' threads. But I don't feel in any way that anyone was 'toxic', for the sake of it.

Maybe saxsan4 just needs a break from the forums. Just to give his head a wobble and come back refreshed.

It is a discussion forum, telling someone they're wrong isn't toxicity. If they're going to post topics with no interest in entertaining any response that doesn't match their preconceived opinion it's likely going to generate friction.
