Agreed, Call of Duty and Battlefield for example has dipped in quality beyond belief.

Cod 1,2,3,4 and Bo1 were great. WW2 was a big disssapointment. never again.

same with battlefield. BF1 is great but BF5 is just ''why?''

it was close that that it would have happened to Dark Souls as well as DS 2 was awful. thankfully they pulled themself together and made the DS3 best game in the series. :)

Thing is... that trust variates from player to player. So it's an eternal struggle to find the balance that works among the different opinions. RU loves the Progetto nerf, less so here as an example.

But... there is also that less talked about lesson. As in what happens when you try too hard to gain your player's trust. As that's why that "other game" did, resulting in it dying in less than 3 months. Doing everything players asked to gain all the trust at the same time. Causing everything to go into a major unbalance in their randoms.

COD is a cash grab now. A short-lived live service before the new one comes. BF5 failed the same way C&C 4 did. They just asked one group for pointers on improving. As in their pro league players etc. And thus the casuals hated the new directions and the game died fast. And ofc the "heroes" they used that was just such a cringe vs using real-life persons. The last one looked like Tom Cruise in Top gun. BF1 was good, but BF has not been amazing since BF3 tbh.... that I still play.

Its interesting to see how some people consider this as off-topic as if it had nothing to do with the game.

It certainly has nothing to do with the gameplay, where it was initially posted.
