Ideal setup is med on 4, rep on 5, ext on 6. Double-tap 4 to heal driver (dies most often, in my case at least, and is essential for mobility), double-tap 5 to repair tracks, and 6 is just...there...

I used to have rep on 4. Then I switched to 5 and never went back, it's ideal.

QB still preaches having it on 4 is best, so he can tap 4 then 5 quickly...but that's simply a lie. 5 5 is faster, plus, you can bind it to the thumb button on your mouse, and be even faster.

I tried it on 5 but didn't feel right, 7 years of being 4 got used to tapping 4-5 in sequence.

I dislike him but for once agree with that, it's actually quicker to have 4-5 in succession with 2 fingers, than double tap 55 or 44 with one finger, try it on your keyboard now as you type. I'm already pressing 5 as I'm half through pressing 4. (Think of it as drumming your fingers on the table action, it's more energy conservative for the muscles than double tapping one finger)

I never use 6, too far away, Spacebar instead and use that for fire extinguisher if I am using that consumable. Most of the time it's food anyway.

For me, Reload is special thumb button on mouse, otherwise I used to use F, which is now used for transition to siege mode instead.

Eitherway, everyone has their own habits and traits. Whatever works best right?

I have med-kit on 4, repair on 5... and fire extinguisher on the thumb buttons for the same reasons you listed. Driver, tracks, and... just having fire on a button my thump is resting on as is, helps loads on getting it out fast. Even more, considering the manual has 2 extra ticks.

Well, it's an acquired taste you can say. Or at least something you have to get up to speed again, vs what your fingers have memories for the last 8 years. I feel 5,5 works best for me. And I get them faster up, vs if I have to get the radio operator up with 4/5 if my map is more blank then I would like late game as one example.

But as you pointed out... habits and what works best for each one. As long as you get them up fast, that's all that matters. Be it on 4, or 5.
