It would be good when the minimap would be a achievement.

I know it is unfair to change the game mechanics in aftermath.
But still. Human beings appreciate things they had to fight for, more than things that they got for free.

And even if the map was not a achievement, it could be bound to crew members, skill and equipment.

No radio researched yet?
Don't worry ...

Crew only has 50% ability?
You can't see the missing 50% anyway, can you?

Radio damaged?
Not so bad...

Radio operator injured?
No problem...

To be clear, I suggest, not to display the cmap under some early conditions and to hide it even in case of damage/injury.

Again, why complicate things more for poor old Steve?

It would be interesting if there was a small delay in relaying of spotted tanks depending on radioman skill or perhaps only if it was wounded. Would make that role have a meaning.

You all are using the term "Steve" for the average player.

I had the same in mind:

That the new players, who learn the basics in the future,
- have to fight for it, to get the map
- have to take care, to keep the map
- and generally, become used to the map.

Steve is capable to learn, you know?

Smoke rounds to fire at the enemy to blind them removes their use of the minimap ?

So we have a serious problem of players with zero situational awareness, poor positioning and we're experiencing tons of lopsided battles, so let's solve it ... by removing the only tool left that takes a simple glance of the eye to give a player vital information that can get them to change their (poor) initial decision and save the battle while there's something left to save.

I don't think we need suggestions for suggestions' sake. This doesn't even make any sense. Does smoke somehow obstruct radiowaves?

Utter crap.

More rubbish from the snobs of the game.

Even unicums need the map. Learning to read the map is one of THE most important basics. Take it away for beginners and you lose all your beginners.

Playing without a map is an elite skill and makes the game a hundred times more awkward.

If anything, make the unicums play without it.

No one wants to bring the experts down a peg or two for balance. Its always, "lets get rid of the beginners or make it harder for them".

I say again, snob.

That will only increase the gap between new and veteran players.

It is not stopping you to play, heavy modded, with a 700% skill crew against baby seals.

Where  can I find 700% crews and how is that any relevant anyway?

Current skills make very little difference after the first two.

Repairs and camo makes the biggest impact and 6th sense of course.

You missed the point. Minimap as a whole is something a large portion of players struggles to utilize and you want to make it even more complicated.

Those that utilize it properly will get an even b

If anything thing they should make every ones map one size, as big as it can go, take away the option to make it smaller, at least at the lower tiers to emphasize it's importance and make it easier to read, and even messages/ingame tips saying to check your map often.

OP are you suggesting a change that would not majorly impact you?  You have enough experience and probably equipment, crews, and currency for it to be a non-issue for you if your idea were implemented.  Meanwhile, new players or players with a low battle count or access to funds or premium tanks will suffer.

Have you heard of a thought experiment called Rawls law or the veil of ignorance?  It suggests you create a rule set based upon ignorance of who you are within the new paradigm.  For example, imagine you are new player attempting to learn the game and having no access to the most basic of situational tools.
