I'm afraid my opinion is akin to some of the posters here:
Map
>In the announcement, the narrator clearly states WG's MO towards making them (HTs/AGs to city, Mediums in between, LTs/Snipers to fields).
So as long as WG maintains this map format, often for the sake of the mediocre players, no new map will ever have variety in it. No ability to flank, no dynamics, no way to counter or counter-counter a push, nothing.
The team that loses more HTs, that is the team that will not win.
In short: Without even playing it, we can assume - and we will probably be right - the map will not bring any more than others already provide: stale, tasteless, predictable gameplay.
Battle Pass
>Merely changing equipment, rewards, nations is insufficient. This alone will keep people playing in an arms race type of battling, though I suspect that is part of the objective.
I reserve further judgement as this concept is fairly new. It is good but so far. Nevertheless, the non-clansmen has very little use for the amount of bonds acquired. There was a player who showed 100.000 bonds on his account, with all lines unlocked, plenty of gold and silver and yet, nothing to spend these rare resources in.
I would suggest giving the opportunity to players to craft/manufacture a given resource that would bring them some sort of benefit over time. Buying virtual goods with the said currency alone is not enough, as there is few items worth spending it on.
Customization
>While I comprehend this is a different department that has an independent agenda as per, say, the balancing department, I will not question their expertise. I'm sure the stickers and additional options are favourable.
Yet, an individual vehicle looking good, will not offset its characteristics that are relevant in combat, more especially so when one takes place. I see it as a moot point, if the latter does not take precedence.
I will take pride in looking at such decals, paintschemes after a worthy battle where I've done what was required from me (regardless of defeat or victory) as I've given my all. That will not happen if the vehicle, or its class, is inherently and artificially handicapped to make up for deficiencies in someone else's game style in other classes.
To oversimplify:
This is a small patch, with very little content - if any - worthy of praise that took a very long time to be released, which does not, once more, address any of the issues the community has been asking for during a long time - nor what WG has promised over the last 12 months.
