New maps are nice, although I cannot understand their reasons for adding only city maps into the game. Peek-a-boo at corners, how very realistic tank warfare... not. Tanks *were not* used in cities for the precise reason that they are too vulnerable to close range anti tank fire. Soviets did use their tanks in Berlin and suffered accordingly.

Nothing you said matters in wot, as its not a historical game, its an arcade 1st/ 3rd person shooter. Heavy and most other players prefer city maps in general for cover  as opposed to vast open maps...coz arty.

That is a very technically correct answer.

I was to rephrase my question. Why 1.9. & 1.9.1. instead of 1.9. & 2.0. / 1.10.

I mean most of the British tanks are still b r o k e n spiritually due to 1.9.

Actually, what he said does matter. City maps are probably where realism and gaming do meet their equivalences as they share similar problems.

They simply manifest themselves differently (TD hiding around the corner shoots you for 750HP, hard to push, only vehicles with strong armour go there, clumsy mobility, awkward shooting, etc).

 

It prevents any sort of variety as you rely on certain team mates to conquer the given area in order to make any push remotely viable. Why? You answered so yourself ↓

Remember the "Type 5 is very hard to play"? The "Heavy Tanks need corridors to guard their flanks"?

With my previous remarks and WG's unwillingness to step out of that map template that's the proof that you're the type of player (eg. Steve) WG made the map for right there.

 

You do not need city blocks to guard your flanks or to provide cover at all times as you are in a Heavy Tank. It has armour: use it.

I am not suggesting cover is to be removed. Minute cover should be available just not in the traditional manner that is simply a matter of getting to a covex slope, hulldown, bounce all shots and deal damage.

HT players have fun at the expense of preset maps which are rued by everyone else.

 

On the same token, if an HT player is not good at using its armour to increase their survivability, obviously it becomes a moot point that they're driving a slow, heavily armoured lumbering beast now, is it? Too bad!

That's the penalty for not doing so properly and getting punished by it is supposed to happen. It is not SPGs, WVs, HE shells, etc. It's the player. Where balance kicks in is what amount of punishment is appropriate.

 

Because currently, WG thinks slim to none is the appropriate amount of punishment for poorly played vehicles with HP and Armour whereas everyone else, who has few of none of those are feeling the sting.

maps is fine, stop clicking. and its good game.

Wonder if Battle pass 2 will be prolonged for this 1 day...?

 

Also wonder what explanation will WG prepare for us...? none? :trollface:

Maaan, they even didn’t add “discuss” button under the news about postponement of update... but only for EU, cause on CiS there is a “discuss” button and people can share opinion there, ask questions and bla-bla-bla...

but we have to share ours thoughts in some freaking old posts and news , and not in relative one:(

the delay also means that the ''old'' battlepass progression which has disappeared will be gone an additional day...

and i was so close to stage 100  :confused:

Of course it failed. This is the company that introduced clown cars to the game, releases a new Russian fantasy tank every other week, and continues to think that artillery is good for the game. It has built its reputation on being spectacularly bad at everything, apart from screwing money from its most profitable customer base.

city maps are much  better, reason: arty safe

Thanks for the map, but the rest of it is pretty lame. 

A bunch of stuff no-one asked for or really needs/wants, and the usual platitudes and excuses offered about the things that are way overdue to be fixed.

You could do better WG - if you really wanted to.
