Hi everyone, i'am an old player back to the game after sometime away, i found that i can't play WOT without that WGC, so when i download the client and start downloading WGC it simply stop downloading at certain point ( like 24% or 64% progress), a message pop-up saying there is a connection error, this happen whatever the speed of my internet.

tried to launch WGC as admin but didn't work, tried other solutions but nothing works.

send the support a ticket but no answer yet, anyone encountered this problem before?  what i have to do?

please help. thank you in advance

Are you talking about downloading WGC itself, or downloading within WGC?

this is the message when downloading, someone from support told me that WGC uses P2P  ( peer to peer) to download and update itself and game content and that my connection didn't allow P2P, so i allowed this on my connection and even used alternate servers that support P2P but nothing worked

Are you running it with admin privileges?

Are you running some kind of personal firewall?

It does use P2P for some elements of the download. Does your ISP completely block Torrents?

i'am running WGC as admin and added it to the exception list of both my firewall and antivirus ( then blocked them entirely but nothing changed) so this is not the trouble, i'am not sure if my ISP is blocking torrents or not, and i didn't find a way how to allow torrents, any idea on how or where i can find a solution for this?

You nee to talk to your ISP, or try a different one.

The ideal long term is, as Homer already mentioned, get a proper ISP, assuming they are indeed flat out blocking Torrent traffic.

There are other possibilities, such as too many torrent connections possible overwhelming or triggering the firewall on the router.

Or maybe the router isn't playing nice with UPnP to open the ports for WGC, but that's pretty unlikely unless the router is pretty flaky or old.

You could try a VPN for the sake of patching/downloading and see if that gets traffic flowing.

i found out that my ISP allows torrents, i used VPN proton to connect to servers that support P2P and the result that the download can go further ( almost 90%) than stop ( same message about connection).

now i'am thinking of giving up since nothing worked to successfully download this annoying WGC, game was better with the older WoT client.

I guess you are one of us who are behind Telia.

You need to change DNS to something else like 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Is anything getting logged by WGC? It normally puts logs in c:\program files(x86)\wargaming.net\gameCenter\logs, with the appropriate ones beginning wgc_.

I don't think a non functioning UPnP would matter, that would just stop him from seeding.  Also Malwarebytes will often block a connection from WGC for me if it sees and IP it doesn't like but WGC still works.

I have seen router firewalls fall over due to the old launcher traffic but in those cases it's obvious because you lose internet completely.

Changing DNS is an interesting suggestion and worth a try for nothing.

I'd love to see a packet capture of what's happening, that would give proper answers, as it's probably something relatively easy to fix. But the OP appears to have gone silent.
