Tinfoil hats on

I just realized something.

Equipment 2.0 will take place as more equipment is to be added. Possibly, in the far future, even more pieces will be available.

It may not be a coincidence that we currently have battle pass and bounty equipment + equip 2.0 in one go because, you see, if other types of equipment are added, it may mean they will someday be put into the battle pass rotation as bounty equipment. Some equipment pieces are meta and thus, in high demand. Hence, WG can simply put those under the Improved Pass, which you need to pay for. I suspect this is the case for the Bounty Optics for the next season (most equipment offers little benefits when compared to their standard counterpart, whereas every meter of view range does help to dig into the enemy's camo, as it does for Bounty Vents, which gives an increased bonus in everything).

Which more equipment pieces available, WG has more too choose from, as do the players - in case they want to buy a coveted item, that WG is likely to put under Improved Pass - which will, of course give them more €€€

Bounty jammers, bounty radios, bounty exhaust, bounty powder, bounty CVS...

All good candidates for improved pass goods.

This is all conjecture as I have no evidence to support these claims but, assuming this assertion is correct, then there's no reason to assume Equip 2.0 won't enter the main servers.

The exact opposite might also hold true: when Equip 2.0 goes live, even if all currently proposed items are revoked, they could very much enter Battle pass as bounty items, where the better ones would be put under Improved pass...

All this stuff is becoming too complicated for my tiny hamster brain.

Or you could put it in chocolate.

That is how Bounty chocolate bars were made.

And that is why they were discontinued.

Fact.
