I decided to pick up light tanks (French tracked), and I've been having a lot of fun, though I definitely have a lot of room to improve. Can anyone suggest me some reputable resources I could learn from? :)

Play Mediums.

Less pain, more effective vehicles and you will get far less idiots asking you to "spot".

On YouTube:

4tankersAndDog plays a lot of lights

Taugrim did a long YouTube film(?) a few years ago which is still valid (road to Unicom #41)

Ilya Red hasn't posted anything recently but is worth a look

RU region- Sh0tnik(5,5k overall wn8 with 70% wr on his main acc) - arguably the best lt player there is, especially EBR 105. mostly plays on his press account(when streaming) for obvious reasons. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWyKpCMEyF22WziHeQ-2qJA/videos

p.s. he has 3,8k dpg with sherdidan on main acc with 1k battles, lol.

Good luck to the Op, I myself cannot make lights work at all, far too fast for my slow reactions, always look with envious eyes to those who can make them work in actual fact there are many tanks I cannot make work,:D  T 34 is one, Object 263 is another, and ofc any Lt you care to mention.

Tbh he has been gone for 3 years, and 99% of his LT content on spotting is out of meta and on the old maps with spot locations long gone to be 100% valid as a reliable tool for now until he gets more updated content out.

Persistence and you do have to make some personal effort to learn at the same time.

The trouble with watching Ace Tanker replays is they're often not because the player played fantastically, but because the stars aligned and the enemy decided to parade one by one through their gunsights like a shooting gallery.

Sure, but this is also true for most Youtube videos about light tank gameplay.

Decent Youtubers make an effort to commentate on their matches, explaining their decision making and so on. You don't get that on a simple replay so even though both may be cherry-picked I feel the former is more helpful.

well, i dont have such an issue, but to be honest, just watching how some of the best best players in wot play, will help anyway. Im sorry, if anyone gets offended, but RU top players, who create youtube content/streams are waaay ahed of EU/NA, there is simply nobody who creates content in english, that plays at their their level, not even close to be exact.

Sh0tnik has younger brother _NIDIN_ who specialises in Lts as well, https://worldoftanks...94-__NIDIN__/?  utm_campaign=wgcc&utm_medium=link&utm_source=clan_profile_military_personnel  he has quite good content on youtube as well: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCISC6m9f_6kEZtwzoaDknew/videos

I would highly recommend to  watch them, as they are definitely some of the top lt players, across all servers, doesnt matter if you dont understand russian.

Well I just read a thread in the Wow's forum, about why you play the game, it's future etc, I got hooked into WoW's first even though I did everything wrong there too, (like buying all the shiny premiums way to early, my name must be Mustafa, mustafa this, mustafa that :Dbut  I still like the game, this one I have a love hate relationship with, and believe me, at one point i was hooked on this game like a spiced up crack addict at one point. (I am not, n or have ever been a crack addict btw) as for the craptalking, I have simply got so used to it that most of the time it goes over my head, there are times when I meltdown like a nuclear reactor but not so much now, thing is that everything negative has already been said, there really is nothing more they can say so when I see a snarky comment now it is just a case of 'ok, whatever.' and think it reflects more on the poster more than me, I'll always be a statue, and the pigeons will always crapon me:D

There are some forumites who have had the heart to actually toon with me, and just for that alone, they get my utmost respect, I have also been told by my now clan commander, (the silent unicom as I like to call him, he just laughs that off, stating he is no where near that) that for all the battles i have played, and my stats being so low that they would need an undertaker to lift them up, that I simply cannot play the catch up game, so in effect my stats will always be the bad stat that they are, so hey whatever, carry on regardless, so the persistence thing will carry on until the servers eventually shut down if ever there would be a thing.

Good player or bad player, we all still get those teams, I still have some good games, with some good mates, but just like the  pro's on here I too slap my forehead at the teams who just melt, lemming train, and do daft crapthat makes you think wtf?

As it happens I had a game with a forumite the other day, the same one in fact who suggested I make another account, after initial scepticism to  that idea, I did.... and it worked, one thing led to another, and the idea progressed  to WoW's too, my stats for both second accounts are a lot better than for this one, proof then that things can get better, it was also hinted at that I should join the 'Dingers' to which my honest heartfelt response was the truthful one, I am simply not good enough for them, but the offer was nice:D

Anyway folks, happy hunting and great battles to you all:great:
