Victory!
Battle: Swamp 9. helmikuuta 2012 15:45:15
Vehicle: AMX 13 75
Experience received: 2*530
Credits received: 58*266
Battle Achievements: Top Gun, Boelter's Medal, Sniper

Very nice tank for it's tier. Gun lacks damage, penetration and shells but it's serviceable. After all the whinethreads I've seen can't wait for the OP 13 90!

My new fun tank.
Fast and deadly. Combine those with revolver and you don't need superb gun or armor.

As Ihmemies said, cant wait next in line if its even better that this!

The AMX 13/75 is great but it's more like a WWII American TD that you fire a volley then you retreat.
Only drawback is that it treats you as a light tank made for scouting which your current garage of lights were made for, so it's matchmaking is the same as a tier 7 heavy tank. But it's worth it at the end.

BTW: I hadn't got it yet, but apparently the AMX 13/90 is awesome according to my observations on the field of battle and the many "OMG AMX 13/90 IS OP NERF IT PLZ" threads.

13/90 is 13/75 with finally a gun able to make good job in the battles were you are sent wometime with AMX 13/75 and wondering what you will be able to do facing 3 MAUS, 3E75 and 3 IS4, shitload of other mammoth and you just above arty. But dont get wrong, even if it has 1050 HP instead 680 it's the same with 13/90. the SSS fact: spotted, stopped, spanked. really, really fast (two, three shells usually)

I like this tank loads, it just requires a special type of play to make it "work". Sit back for a minute or two guarding the base against any other scouts, watch the map carefully. Move if you see a melee forming to get yourself flanking it and simply 6 shot a heavy or TD (Ferdies love this treatment!). Immediately get the hell out of there as you will not last long, you're fast going backwards too. Whenever the coast is clear check the map and repeat, . If there is an opportunity to cap then by all means help yourself  ;):-)  . Lonely Heavy tanks are dead once you start the circle of death. When you maul your first Tiger this great little beastie makes sense. I learned so much playing the 12t, it just becomes way more fun when you have a real gun.

Don't usually post on here, It is just a really good tank and deserves praise  :Smile_great::-)

In one way its a bit like KV with derpgun but instead of 1 big fat shot you have six with less dmg but on both tanks you have to retreat afterwards because of your long reload.

main difference, KV can derp anytank it want and deals huge damages. AMX 13/75 can barely damage tanks after T8.

AMX 13 75 is good, AMX 13 90 is great. With the 90 I've killed Lorains 1vs1 with 1 clip, IS-7s, E75s, a lot of arties. AMX 13 90 is the ultimate scout.

E75 sides quite good chances to bounce on hull due to spaced armor (skirt). Rear  pretty much not penetrable due to slope and plate thickness (at min it's 146mm)
VK45B yes, side are joke but anything can damage it and we know that since closed beta. Not specific of the AMX.
T34, same as above side and rear are weak since the beginning and this tank can be solo by any scout that have more than 80mm pen...
French tanks. Particular case since any T5+ french tank is made of paper.

Except the poor VKDB there are no non scout tank with this low penetration value.
I don't say it's a problem. you can deal with that since the entire gameplay of AMX 12/13 serie is scavanging and treachery. But don't come to say you can pass anything without difficulty. You have to be on the right place, at the right moment or you have a smoking wreck as tank.

Im still learning the AMX. One piece of advice i think i can pass on is be patient. Start by scouting the middle ground, but dont engage anything. Return to base and let the field start interlocking, sniping for what its worth from the back lines. Then pick a juicey alone target, pretty much regardless of tier and engage it in CQB. return to base and rinse and repeat. If you see a hole form rush forward and disable the arty, and attempt a ninja cap. Worst case scenario the enemy must disengage your front line fighters to deal with the capper, giving back the favour to your team.

Am I right in thinking that the 13 90 is the same chassis and turret as the 13 75 but with a 90mm gun, faster engine and even greater traverse speeds?

You forgot that the 13 90 is more green than the 13 75  :P

The top gun makes mincemeat of anything but the most heavily armoured tanks, and the RoF is a real show stopper. Speed and mobility are both a vast improvement over the AMX 12t, especially once you have the last engine. All in all it's a great little tank, as long as you pick your engagements, and don't bite off more than you can chew. A pack of these can really devastate if used correctly, but only if the enemy are surprised; a switched on opponent will make short work of them.

Personally, I'm loving it. I wasn't sure after the 12t experience, but it's so much better in every respect.  :Smile_great:

This weekend in a max tier 8 company we won a hilarious game. Map Himmelsdorf, enemy had 3 arty and all heavies. :) I drove a VK 4502 A (fast heavy) and the rest of the team AMX 13 75/90. The other team huddled up in their base while we scouted some. Then we started to take them out one by one. The game ended with us having 5-6 survivors and the enemy was all dead. A fun little tank.

I bought the AMX 13 75 this sunday and have unlocked all but the radio without free XP. I sit grinning when the game starts and hang back one minute then the carnage starts.  :Smile-izmena:

I've been looking at the AMX-13 and thinking of getting one. Just because of that cool turret thing, and its a post war vehicle. Plus the idea of 6Rnd ready ammo appeals.
I'm good enough to play Tier VI and VII and make money (which I suppose is average). I've also got a huge stable of tanks to support this tier. I already have tons of lights, such as the M24. And I was looking for a Tank to take while my mates play with their tier 7 heavies.

And so we come to the AMX-13/75. But there's one thing I don't know before a major re-jigging of my Garage.
Is it Fun? Do you get screwed by tanks you can't hurt. constantly due to the matchmaker (Sort of like the Jagdpanzer IV)?

I love this tank, but the matchmaking seems to hate it.

Most of the time im being put up with Tier 8 - 10 (with 2 or 3 tanks you can damage from the same tier) tanks wich means you cant do shit (unless you catch a tier 8 out alone). WG really needs to fix the matchmaking for this tank since the 75mm is just a peashooter when you're up against tier 8 or higher, add the paper armor to that and all you can pretty much do is scout some tanks (what this tank isn't meant to do).

When you're in tier 6 - 8 matches its a great tank though. Just don't play peekaboo with it (you will definitely loose). It's the perfect tank to catch other tanks off guard when theyre alone.

This tank is great when you try to:
- shoot tier 8 tanks from the sides back (any higher and it just wont penetrate)
- catch heavies out alone
- rape anything of your same tier (just don't start playing peekaboo, you are still just a light tank)
- kill scouts and arty (its a true arty/scout killer)

Its horrible when you:
-  get put in mm with tier 9 and 10 (theres simply nothing you can do to these tanks except track them, and even then most of the tier 9/10 tanks just eat your shells with their tracks)
- are in a peekaboo spot with the enemy tank having support behind him
- play it too aggressively (even a missing shot from an arty can kill you)
