Raging Raptor has done a good video illustrating the changes that may go ahead for this map. No longer can it be called Empires Corridor. :)

What do you think? It looks like it might become a bit of a campfest and an artillery players dream but on the whole I think this map needed to be reworked. My main gripe with this map was fighting for the gate on the South side, the team starting North had nowhere to run if their push failed while South spawn players could just duck out round the corner.

WG is joking about Empire Border? Changing it from a corridor map into that? Looks good honestly.

Ruinberg on the other hand, now it looks more balanced IMO.

Maybe finally a reason to take it off my blocked maps.

Personally. It's been on my permanent map ban list due to that HT corner. 90% of the tanks go there, and the south just dominates it most games. Opening it up a bit might get me to like it more. I have more fun in my lights on Paris then on this map.

Yes, now arty will hit you and TDs will cover the entire area, this will turn a brilliant aggressive map into a campiest, Airfield 2.0

I dislike the current map but dislike this new one even more. It's in typical WG style, screaming EBR, Arta and TD bushes once again

Ruinberg changes might be progressive. TBH empire's border still looks like a poor map. Mostly because it still has a big mountain in the middle of it. Strikes me this was a map where they agreed the concept before they thought about whether it would work. The north of map is still going to be a big noob trap, and tactically useless on encounter mode. The south of the map is still going to be where the battles are won and lost, but now it will be very campy.

If I redesigned it, I'd put the wall on one of map edges and just have it as some nice scenery. Having half the map as impassable is just bad map design.

looks nice imo.

also the only way to watch WoT youtubers is to enable the 2x speed.

makes it way faster and actually sounds like they speak at the normal speed.

Empire borders way to open, and of course, sparse bushes, like others have mentioned it will be one big camp fest, I like the ruinberg changes though, seem very balanced, just imaging if they enlarged Ensk.

Why can WG actually not ask all of their player base what should be and what shouldn't be on the maps, or instead employ a team to actually take real feedback from the forums?

Oh no, they're gonna flatten EB.

I didn't think it was possible to make the worst map even worse but WG has done it. Hats off.

Flat maps are the bane of this game. We need arty cover, less "killzones", and more small routes.

Flat maps are amazing and just what this game needs.

They just need to remove artillery and... voila! Open maps are heaven.

I kinda wonder if wg only understands extremes.
Either its a corridor map or a open map with bushes perfectly positioned to allow the bunch of campers to just sit it out.
And off course no real arty save areas just to make sure everyone is even more discouraged to move.

All you end up with are stupid "you push you loose" maps where everyone plays hiding for 10-15 minutes as whoever peeks first gets obliterated by arty and every camper with a line of sight.
Add some wheelchair wrom wrom stuff and you have the recipe for one hell of a stupid gaming experience.

You must enjoy getting slapped from the other side of the map...

I don't.

I like to be in control of the engagement, fight with the tanks whose position I'm aware of, without having to worry whether their arty or TD will randomly strip half my tank's health off or not. That sounds fair to you?...

Long live corridor maps! Long live Mountain Pass! At least in those we're safe from the worst of WoT - arty and EBRs.

Here is the problem, you don't like this opening of the map while others constantly whine for it to happen to maps. It's a lose-lose for WG, like pretty much everything in the game that is tied to opinions.

I personally find changes generally welcomed whatever they really are. Changes will alter the meta and should make things a bit fresher.

Its not a loose loose situation, what they need to do is have more maps and allow us to exclude more so people can pay maps they like

I wish WG would see this, Arty is already OP and by flattening the map you just allow them to cause more havoc

Omg we have the same mind

LITERALLY nothing worse than have maps that rely on the other flank to push, it means you are never in control of the battle and also rewards campers rather than active players

Well of course they aren't ''loose'' but it is a lose-lose situation. They can't make all players happy, ever, as proven once again in minor scale.

More maps to exclude is not going to work either. Sure they could put out more maps but that really isn't a fast thing for them to do. Pearl River is coming back soon though.
