60 - 70% of players in the last few battles had less than 1 - 2k battle experience. Top tier Heavy went to the back of the map… i asked him to jump off the cliff into the sea… lol

It's a total muppet show... as long as you don't have higher expectations thats ok.

I suspect beeing a free-to-play game is dragging in players from all over the world looking for a shareware type of game.... and yeah, it is the best shareware program on the market.

As long as there is hope for stupididy beeing equally distributed among the teams (ref. MM) people will still play the game.

/nuff said…. & happy summer to all :)

Maybe taking it seriously in the first place is where the problem started?

I believe you haven't take WoTs seriously enough yet.

Jokes aside. Why take it seriously anyway, it's a game.

... and all these noobs do not know how to carry you to a win ?!

We all get these teams.

Many others are able manage, some are not.

Spoiler

I see this situation as an intermediate difficulty level between bots made by WoT (PvE) and good players (green+).

WoT has a high conversion rate, hence them "bots" pay for your server too.

Really? I have not tried that tactic yet. Though I guess if it works on Armoured War Elephants, it can work on Heavy Tanks as well.

Ayoo-yo-yo... Ayoo-yo-yo... Wollolohhh... wollolohhh... :hiding:

As you learn more about the game, it is frustrating to watch:

  • Top tier heavies letting mediums fight alone and prefer to camp behind arty instead.
  • Arty who is infront of everyobody on the map (and offcourse get killed early)
  • Scouts who claim scouting positons but clearly doesn't have bino or any crew skills
  • Lights who die in 20 secs.
  • People throwing their tanks away.
  • TDs charging into enemy dug in positions and die.
  • People don't bother to equip vehicles with repair/med-kits.

But again, this is purely my opinion... other people may find these issues of no importance.

Nahh, it lacks mention of wheels and/or stun.

Those are actually new issues, and not player-base but mechanics related.

I think that, if anything, the OP has been taking the game too seriously!

Game (not equal to) Serious

1) You aren't supposed to take it seriously if you see it as game / hobby.

Something to do to relax

2) If you do take it seriously you are more looking at it as a sport or competition (which is fine)

Now here's the dilema. In random battles you are much more likely to get a mix of players from categories 1 & 2.  Type 2 players get frustrated with the type 1 players and the type 1 players don't even know they are frustrating the type 2 players or are doing it on purpose as part of their fun.

You can either accept this in order to reduce your frustrations with Random gameplay or join a clan to play skirmishes or the other game modes where you are more likely to have a larger majority of type 2 players.

Randoms (love them or hate them) live up to their name

New players are good for the game, also try and take things less seriously, I no longer get mad except for arty, if I et 1 shot by FV4005/183 I laugh now and say LOL, also I only play In platoon and its very fun as I can talk to my wot friends. Just remember its only a game and with whats happening in real life withe Corona and riots etc, lets be happy we still have wot.

There is seriously some new stuff/"meta" going on in the heads of new players.
I haven't seen that many out of place tanks in all those years as in recent weeks.
Where you have an o-ni on fishermans bay camping in the north east corner wedged into the redlines all game.
Super hellcat players (seem to be in general the most useless bunch of people) rushing in ensk down the heavy line to brawl with kv2s and japanese derps.
And then you have the amazing "snipers" sitting in bush to support but end up with 20 shots fired, 4 hits, 1 pen. Then you look at their overall stats and see an abysmal 30% hitrate on non arty tanks... one must wonder how special one has to be to miss that often while camping bushes.

There have always been idiots, campers behind arty, and double r yolo rushers, but the new breed, and a couple of "veterans" (bought account?) really take the cake atm.
Sometimes it feels like half the team consists out of special needs people that haven't received their medication in weeks cause of corona.

It feels like tomatos from 2014 are purple in comparison to the new breed.

No, it's that people seek to play a game for fun. How dare they?!? :izmena:

Jokes aside, It's half true. "fun" can be perceived in two ways - fooling around, or winning as a team (that feeling of success and accomplishment). WoT swings towards the former...rarely is there ever good teamwork in this team-based game.

The thing is that those two ways aren't two ways. For a good player fun and fooling around just happens to be things that help his team win more.

There is often good teamwork in this game. But the key is to work with the team, and not try to force the team to work with you (you adapt to what everyone individually is doing, rather than you trying to somehow control 14 other players into doing your particular plan for a particular battle).

Do I have to keep saying it?

It's the aliens dammit!

But honestly, one of the great things about the game is that you can log in, jump in a random tank and have a bit of fun.

You can also log in, jump into a carefully chosen tank and do your best to do unto others as often as possible based on your skills and grind away at whatever it is you are grinding towards.
