I see some improvement here and there on the new equipment, I am really looking forward to testing some of the reworked stuff out, HOWEVER I still disagree with the predefined category slots. As an example, what benefit could I even get on an AMX 50B, if now Heavy Tanks get a Survivability slot? That thing is NOT meant to be played as a brawling heavy, therefore it gets no benefit from equipping Survivability items.

If you really want to keep the +% Bonus on items, why not just remove the category slots (you could just keep the naming for the items so it'll be easier to search what you're looking for), and just make the First Slot give the bonus, regardless of what equipment you're putting there.

And that proves my point.

If you give four slots then you no longer have to choose between optics and vents so every tank will be rammer, optics, vents, and vstab. Goodbye variety.

The new setup with one specialised slot will encourage heavies at least to think of a different setup since they won't get an extra bonus from any of those four.

no, that does not prove your point. if that is what worries you, then make it so you can't mount optic and vents in the same time ( except on autoloaders , that don't have rammer) and give us extra slots. you want us to renounce at the best combination in game for some stupid things like improved hardening? good luck with that. also i don't like that you force us to play a tank like you want. i want to play my tanks like I want, not like YOU want.

It's totally up to you! :)
Give it a try on this new sandbox and maybe we'll change your mind.

why bother? you are not even willing to test a new thing like extra slots, to see how it goes, and if players like this idea or not, and ask us to renounce at something good for something that is at best "meh".

I have mixed feelings.

I like the idea of merging the radio with the jammer but nerfing the latter stats to be included is disappointing.

A word of advice to WG is, provide vehicles with one specialization slot with two options.

Heavy Tank: allow players to choose from Firepower or Survivability

Medium Tank: Mobility or Firepower

Light Tank: Mobility or Scouting

Camperbot: Firepower or Scouting

SPGs can remain just firepower as they're literally just a gun on tracks. If not, same as TDs.

Giving more equipment slots will increase the gap and create more balancing problems. You will have to chose the best combination for your role and tank and sacrifice some stats.

Increase the number of slots and make equipment cheaper, then.

So far, this seems like it will just be even more of a money sink than before, which I imagine is the goal. If you go up a tier and the next tank has different strengths, no more bringing over your old equipment. Rebuy from scratch. Another up to 1.8 mil credits gone ;;

I like the new toys you bring. However some tanks need tweaks to their role slots, 50B for example.

Wonder who gives them these bad ideas. The first iteration slot style was much better and varied

So how does the Improved aiming device work?

When you are fully aimed, is it decreasing your aim circle so you have better overall accuracy?

Or you have smaller maximum aiming circle?

Maximum aiming circle only happens when you move your tank, traverse your tank or move your gun or traverse your turret. That is when it gets bigger and can possibly reach it's maximum.

There is already something for that, vertical stabilizer which decreases the aim circle while moving and traversing.

So what is the difference between Improved aiming device and vertical stabilizer?

Improved aiming equipment will reduce the radius of the circle while the Vstab will reduce the dispersion of your gun while moving.

There's a difference between the two pieces and it will depend on your tank.

I would also like to know.

Selling Bounty Equipment for $/Gold and then nerfing it (passively) is not a very nice move.

Bounty equipment is still better than the standard equipment but we wanted to adjust the value of Improved equipment to it's actual cost.
Changes are not final so if you feel that this is an actual nerf to the Bounty equipment please feel free to report it for our final feedback.

Wait, are certain equipment pieces(like optics or camo net) still limited to certain classes?

We're launching the second iteration of Equipment 2.0 testing on the Sandbox server.
The full text of the news item

Much better. Actually no, drastically better even.

Camouflage net should be a straight bonus like it is now however, otherwise you get some very strange effects like how a sneaky heavy tank gets a minimal bonus from it while a giant zero sneaky TD gets 3 times as much bonus from it for no other reason than type.

Keep Camouflage net and Binocular as no cost swappable. This helps enormously for beginners and makes sense.

Some compatibility limits doesn't make sense, like why not allow grousers for SPART(no, SPGs are SP GUNS not SP ART, the Waffenträger or Skorpion G are SPGs).

Consider having a "minimum bonus" for some %-based bonuses, like horsepower or hitpoints.

Please don't lock out Tier 1 vehicles from equipment.

The combined equipment sets makes decent sense and makes them far more viable options.

Consider giving the players the option of changing the special slot Category. Survivability/Mobility/Firepower for Heavy tanks, Scouting/Mobility for Light tanks, any/all for Medium tanks, etc... Something like that. Because a fast or sneaky heavy will not benefit much from Survivability, while an already superspeedy medium have near zero use for a Mobility boost. Otherwise you're still trying to predefine how players are supposed to play vehicle classes, instead of giving a choice.

Consider adding a 4th slot as the Category slot instead of changing existing(and limited to ONLY that Category). Not a perfect solution, but it would reduce the problems of performing the change and would allow for much increased diversity.

All in all, barring anything ending up overpowered, this should be usable as is, even if i would like some of my comments used.

As is, it still wont get rid of most people using the same or similar setups however, as while the other equipment now starts looking useful, it is still not as overall useful. Myself for example, i have several tanks i would LIKE to put Turbocharger and Grousers on, but probably wont, because they're only truly useful on SOME maps, and no matter how useful they are on those maps, they're not useful enough ALL the time, and since maps are randomly chosen, you MUST use the equipment most suitable all the time rather than sometimes.

Good changes, I like the idea of merging different types of mobility equipments together, they will be relevant now! Now I can buff my FV4005 back to its 37/11 kmph top speed and I can give it better accuracy, and keep the vents, haha

+50% / +60% to HE-shell and ramming damage
+50% / +60% to protection of the crew from injuries
-10% / -15% to stun duration
-20% / -25% to additional stun duration
+60% HE dmg of your tank or there is a mistake and it is +60% more defence of HE ?

I'm not forcing you to do anything.

If you think rammer/vents/vstab is still the best combination then stick with it.

I have said it before, and will repeat again.

WG ,I have withnessed to many games ruined by changing what was already clean and simple mechanics (equipment was working just fine for 10 years ) with one colourful extravaganza, just for the sake of changing, and "modernising".

You are really in hurry to deliver this blow to our beloved game, arent you?

Please, STOP.

I think it's quite obvious it should say +50% protection against HE and ramming.

What about those who participate on the first iteration of sandbox and there rewards?...they will be credited on the time that you already announced?

Yes, they said:

"Your reward for completed missions will be credited to your main account within 14 days after Sandbox testing is completed.

The final decision to implement these mechanics has not yet been made! We would like to analyze your feedback on the proposed changes, so feel free to leave all your thoughts on the forum and in a special questionnaire that will be sent via the in-game client after June 8".

Still, NO REWARDS and NO SPECIAL QUESTIONNAIRE

I totally understand your intentions but to me for instance, 20€ for battle pass is much more valuable than 4-5K bonds. And I'm sure that the overwhelmingly majority of people buy the battle pass only because of that additional piece of bounty equipment. They will not be happy about Equipment 2.0 patch when they realize that their equipment is suddenly worse than improved equipment.

But yes, I will report that for final feedback. WG made a mistake by making bounty equipment as good as improved equipment. Why should the customers have to pay for that mistake? Not fair in my opinion.

Just two things to say on this:

1) Don't try and fix what aint broken.

2) If anything, this will make the game a lot more complicated for new players. You push them to higher tiers before they're experienced enough and now you plan to implement an equipment system that almost requires an engineering degree to understand. Do you know that this is a hobby and not a job for 99% of the players?

I can't wait to test this!
I think it will be great for new builds for light tanks.
It will be fun to try a full spotting EBR or a full camo/spot ELC bis :)
I guess it won't change the meta for highly competitive medium / heavy / TD tanks, but for some not competitive / fun / special tanks it will make them maybe even more special and unique.
Seems like an overall nice change in my opinion.
