Heyo :)

i really like tanks with historical parts and parts that make them look cool and sometimes it means playing tanks half stock.

but as far as i know there is almost never no advantage on playing tank half stock.

so here are few that i've been thinking on getting and how i would set them up:

Spoiler

so would these set ups be playable or would you like with the Tiger 1 & P lose too much of the good things so its not worth it being (well more like looking) historically accurate?

aside from the T-150 that just looks like super cool KV-1 with the set up shown above. but i've never seen anyone using it. is the top gun just so much better and the Top turret so there is litterally no reason to go halfstock?

and even that would they be good enough even with best parts? i hear Nishi calling out Tiger P as REALLY bad tank from time to time.

i know that Panther is useless when historically accurate, but something like M8A1 Scott is good enough and is nostalgic as its like the good old M5 Stuart before the Nerf.

so in my experience its mostly acceptable at tiers below tier 6, but it can work out on some specific tanks.

Spoiler

Tanks like the Tiger 1 and 2 just look so amazing and nostalgic.

In case of the panther just play the vk 3002m, its pretty much your historical panther.
In case of the tiger, get the tiger 131 or heavy no 6, historical correct and imo more enjoyable as the tier 7.
Same would probably go for a tier 7 kt with the 8.8 l71.
Some tanks are just not fitting their tier and are artificially made weird so they somehow fit.

ye the Tier 6 ''Panther's'' are better for their tier when in historically accurate.

i have the Tiger 131, but the Tiger 1 still gets more HP and stats, so would it still be good enough to make up for the 1 tier?

cant get the KTc as far as i know cuz i am not going to get Twitch cuz why should? if i could get it for ever with 1 purchace i could get it, but i dont like things that i need to pay for monthly.

but i did start to question the fact that could some of these tanks work half stock as i know few players/forumites that say that VK.30.02 D is good. :amazed:

it has the bad 88mm gun and i've always regarded that tank as beyond bad but some how some people actually like it and say its good.

Short 88 vs tier 9? Not a good mix tbh. You might get something out of it as top tier. But that would be stretching it too. Tiger II might work when top tier. Not gonna do much vs a tier X super heavy. As 203 might work on a tier 9 med, as it's mobile. Less so here tbh.

So I suspect if anything. The only historical thing here, is to relive the terrible stock grinds of 8 metas ago in the current meta.

Much more enjoyable with stock gun and top engine + tracks than vice versa I suppose.

Still remember the horrors i endured f2p grinding the tiger in 2011. Stock engine, stock tracks and the 88l56 with whooping 132 pen vs is7, is4, maus, etc...

Of course it is playable. Though you will not get as good results as if you used top configuration

that is true.

but it somehow feels so dirty to play for my own pleasure with a stock tank and therefor perhaps giving my team a handicap.

As long as you are an OK player, you will still perform better then half your team though.

Having you with a stock configuration Tiger II is probably as good as having a normal WoT player in Defender or something :P

Except historically Tiger had excellent accuracy even in multiple kilometers of distance while 131 in WoT starts losing its accuracy in few hundred meters compared to the tier 7 version

Wot is mocking accuracy across the board, so poor old steve can sit in the open sideways and survives a little longer cause rng makes people miss.
