This is a replay showing a certain type of tactic that arty currently prevents completely from the game.

It is just an AT15A driving straight across the field of Malinovka as top tiered tank.

Wether it is good or bad that arty removes this option is debatable, we should just acknowledge that it completely remove it from the game.

Some also say that premium ammo makes armour useless, or that weakspots make armour redundant. This replay features an AT15A, which have a cupola weakspot most tanks can reliable pen that it meets.

And it also holds up decently against premium ammo, though not much premium ammo was fired at it in this particular game.

The arty player must've thought the AT was camping. That thing moves so slow, you often can't tell the difference!

100% this is why no arty is good, we can actually play the game rather than sit in a bush

Campanovka with no arty is actually a decent map, with arty I just sit behind the rocks

The only players who truly believe that arty prevents camping are the ones who aren't capable of actually playing the game well and would otherwise just sit in a bush on the backline for the entire game (or arty players themselves) if it didn't get them artied. Because anyone who plays aggressively knows very well that it is at that time that you actually become an arty magnet. And it hurts like hell when nearly every map consists of 3 corridors where you have limited movement parallel to arty, so if you're at the frontline brawling it out aggressively - good luck dodging arty, or rather pray to RNG gods because it'll decide how soon you end up in the garage from an orbital strike.

Although we could concede that arty stops camping in VERY specific deadlock cases that can happen on maps like Prokhorovka where the battle is balanced and neither side is brave (stupid) enough to push at the high risk of losing the battle. Arty could then just keep spamming anyone sitting on the key hill and force the deadlock into one side's favor. Or, alternatively, it could force both sides to retreat even further apart and not move an inch the entire battle.

And the pinned thread is supposed to prevent the arty discussion from being fragmented across multiple threads.
