Is this mod legal or not?

Just came across a guy who kept spamming which tank has hit him and the timer till next shot.

Made some screens for a report if its illegal.

Only telling you the standard reload time.  Legal and useless and annoying.

Saw stuff like that as well: "I got hit by Object 261, it reloads for about 30.xx seconds". Which I doubt is the actual reload, it's probably something like 25-26.xx seconds, based on the setup.

I don't think it's cheating. It would be different imo if it showed a reload timer on top of tanks, which would be an advantage in a hectic fight.

I'm not sure there is a mod that can tell you what equipment, consumables, crew skills another player has, and you'd need that to get an accurate reload time.

I generally hate mods that keep spamming things in chat. Honestly should be enough to report them for spam.

Worst offender being someone using the sixth sense notifier, ESPECIALLY when they're brawling around a corner in a heavy tank, where they keep getting spotted and unspotted.

totally useless information, as that mod cant calculate actual reload, considering crew setup, consumables and equipment. im not saying that there should be such mods, that show accurate reload times, just explaining thats its totally useless crap. i guess its useful if you dont have any clue about stock reloads and it might give you the idea of how much time you have between enemy shots.

Reload TIMER is against the "fair play policy".

Seeing a static reload time isn't.

"Alerting you when spotted vehicles are reloading, including displaying an enemy's reloading timer"

It still alerts you when a vehicle, that might or might not be spotted, is reloading.

Those reload mods can only give the average base reload of whatever hit them. They have no way to account for crew skills or equipment/consumables and they're completely useless against an auto loader as they have no way to know how many shells the enemy has remaining.

ONLY use MODS from WG official modpage.

Using anything that's NOT identified at the WG modpage is a high risk, no matter how unproblematic the MOD seem to be.

Don't download MODS from Twitch Streamers that are not officially approved or registered at WG.

XVM is not listed at WG modpage, but is often needed for some of the MODS to work.

The reload info with static text from certain MODS is pretty much useless information and should be blocked by spam filter.

If you get hit by an arty, I'm pretty sure you already know that they are reloading.. It does alert the user but it's not "new" information.

It alerts everyone on the team that someone was hit by arty and that they cannot get hit by arty for the next X number of seconds. Even if the mod says 30 seconds and that's not entirely correct, you don't need to be too smart to know this means you can do whatever for the next 20 seconds and be arty safe. That is generally new information for any user not hit by arty or not close to the one getting hit by arty.

I'm not saying it's a cheat, a great advantage, or much more than annoying chat spam. But some consistency from WGs side about mods in such cases would go a way to quell any frustration regarding what is and what is not an allowed mod.

XVM isn't so much a mod as a framework and, as you say, is required in order for many mods to work. As such it is included in various mods and mod-packs available on the official mod portal. But, yes, people should only download mods through the official portal.

Source for that?

Always seems to be restricted to arty reload but not aware that it's a "legality" issue.

Doesn't really matter as the fair play policy doesn't say anything about alerting your teammates.

"Alerting you when spotted vehicles are reloading"

Arty shooting from the back of the map isn't spotted and the mod isn't alerting you, the game is. The mod is alerting everyone else.

WG should clear up the rules and guidelines for modding. It leaves a lot of room for misinterpretation.

Not really. There is only one real rule - if it is from the official portal then it is legal. A mod from anywhere else and you take your chances.
