Hi fellas,

This might seem a bit noobish question, but why HE shells can damage more modules than other shell types? I checked tanks.gg and i noticed that all the shells has the same module damage, but for example, when i shoot an FV4005 with AP, i get only one critical hit, but with HE, it might even increase up to x3!

Best regards,

Splash.

Your name even explains it. Splash , an ap shell is basically like a bullet , it will only hit in a straight line and nothing else while an explosive will damage everything around it.

HE explodes in a radius rather than passing through the tank in a straight line like an AP shell.

AP, APCR and HEAT have a straight line where module damage may occur.

HE have a cone (if the shell don't penetrate) or half a sphere if the shell penetrate. Also HE have some kind of shrapnel mechanics that allows to hit module that still are not directly in the cone due to shrapnel bouncing around inside the tank.

One of the changes tested on HE sandbox was reducing the maximum ricochet number to 1 for each shrapnel that alone reduce the amount of critical damage taken from HE by a huge margine.
