Hello guys,

if i unlock the last engine of the Conqueror am i gonna waste 45k exp ?

because as you see in the screenshot below, the S.Conqueror shares this engine with his little brother and i wonder if we just go to Research the S.Conq is that engine gonna be for free EXP for the tier 9 British heavy?

Nope, not Free XP.

This is the same situation as unlocking the Conway and getting Tortoise's last gun unlocked.

Or unlocking T110E5 and getting M103's last gun unlocked.

Things need to be unlocked only once, so when you unlock the Super Conqueror (or the Badger, or the FV4005), that engine will become available to buy and mount on the Conqueror and any other vehicles that can do so like the Conway and Centurion 7/1.

All XP that you may have in any of those tanks will remain in those tanks and, in the limit, will be available to convert to Free XP.

Spending 45k now on the engine will make grinding the 219k xp for the sqonq so much easier, so you could ignore the engine and get the sconq for "174k" but your t9 conq wont be as nice to drive in all those games

I personally ignored the IX Conq top engine as I just wanted to get used to the p/weight ratio like the T10 Super Conq has (Around 12 hp/ton)

In regard to the text on the image, the XP price of the S. Conq will stay the same, even if you unlock the top engine which is shared between the two tanks.

Or spend the 45k and have fun with the engine - and just blueprint out the Sconq?

considering how big diifference there is between top engine and pre-top, yes you should get it 810 vs 950hp is huge difference, if it was like 20hp upgrade then obviously not.

But its up to you, if you just want to get SQ, then play it like it is and forget about that engine, because you will unlock it automatically, after you research SQ, as that engine is used on pretty much all of the british top tier tanks.

Thank you guys for the clarification,

i guess with all these exp boosters we have now it's not an issue to unlock any tier 10 after  +-120 battles! so in this case i'll ignor the top engine and get it for free by researching the S.conq

and regarding the S.conq i will not buy it or any tier 10 without Credit discounts and this 45k exp for the engine will be turned to Crew Exp because even after unlocking the S.conq im gonna drive the Elite Tier 9 for a while until the next discounts event arrives.

It is definitely worth it to get the top engine even if it is “just” 120 battles to the sconq. The vehicle gets more responsive to wasd and the increased climbing speed means you will get more opportunities to spank some enemies. Remember that engine power also affects traverse speed, which isn’t outstanding on the conqueror to begin with so that extra hp will make a difference in a lot of situations.

Not using every available UK national blueprint on the lights seems like a mistake to me.

I skipped the Top Engine for that exact reason. Once you unlock the S.Conq, the Top Engine will be automatically researched, so investing those 45k can be seen as a waste of (free) experience. Nowadays, i would simply use Blueprints to research the S.Conq straight away, but back then they didn't exist.

you absolutely right. and so was bob and gruff as well.

but after i have used my blueprints. its less battles now to unlock sq than before. and in my situation i would rather have these 45k for the Crew instead of spending them on the top engine which i will get for free.

here is the thing,

if you are 100k exp away from unlocking the sq

but you also need another 45k for tier 9 top engine.

ignoring the engine for a short while will reduce the required playing time to unlock the models by 30%

and because the 810hp is not that bad and the way to Research the sq is not that long, saving 1/3 of my Conqueror play time to put it into accurate crew training later sounds more logical for me.

Edit 08/07/2020

i have unlocked the S.Conq yesterday after 58 battles in the Conqueror with this grind setup

1- i have used my British blueprinst to creat 6 Fragments which maked the tier 10 Heavy 45% cheaper

2- i have unlocked the turret and the Gun with Free Exp, and spent like 80k for that.

3- i have used 15 times  x5 EXP reward from the monthly Tank reward prizes

4- i have boosted my good runs with the extra EXP boost for Premium account holder. 5 runs a day.

5- i have always activated the 100% or the 50% exp boost in my Personal Reserves

the final result looks like this and i have now the Top engine for free ' without spending 45k for it'

Wasted experience? It is not a radio module, it is a module that actually improves your tank, significantly better traverse speed, acceleration and climb speed is nice to have.

Yea, it does improve tank stats. But you invest 45k for a module that is automatically researched anyway once the S.Conq is unlocked. So my strat nowadays would be to use Blueprints in any case.

  1. If you just play the Conqueror to grind through the Tech Tree, using Blueprints helps you to speed up your grind.
  2. If you want to play the Conqueror EVEN after unlocking the S.Conq it still makes sense to use Blueprints, as you unlock the engine for free and save you the trouble of using free xp or grinding that xp by yourself.

Depends on your preference.

If you can play comfortable and can grind comfortable 219300 xp without the upgraded engine then DO NOT buy that engine. Then you save 45000 xp.

If you can NOT grind comfortable 219300 xp without the upgraded engine, then spend 45000 xp on that engine AND THEN grind the 219300 xp .
